Re: Rust found on inner rear 'humps' — advice needed, please!
And it is not even about poor trademanship. It is about how the MMOC responds to complaints of poor work, how they report back to the members, and the removal of the offending organizations adverts from the magazine, as it implies to some degree MMOC support. Whilst not wishing to prolong this thre...

Re: Rust found on inner rear 'humps' — advice needed, please!
Unfortunately there are a small number of non-club members who are using other peoples posts in which to criticise the club and it's individuals. This is not fair on the members concerned and does not help with the smooth running of this messageboard which the majority of people here visit for help...

Re: Rust found on inner rear 'humps' — advice needed, please!
As a fairly quiet forum attendee, if I was considering work to be done by a company, I would look in the magazine, and maybe do a search on the forum. I probably would not think to ask about the practice of the company as I would assume that if there was an issue, then it would be out in the open. S...

Re: what engines can you fit in a morris minor?
You can fit any engine if you have the money/time.
The Ztec used by JLH seems to be a good idea, or put in a V8 and scare the neighbors.
Or how about an old Nissan motor that was based on the A series.

I vote helpful - just think of all those Moggies still going because of your help.chickenjohn wrote:Or is it just that BMC is a very helpful outgoing chap.
Must ask though, when are you going from moggies to a Stanley Steamer?

Bought the basic model without card reader. Brilliant bit of kit until you start the engine when it promply crashes due to the interference from the unsupressed caps on the plugs as it has original ignition. Shame really as it was pretty good performance without the engine and yes I tried an LC net...

Re: Bah! Broken down!
Some of these new condensers don't seem to last long - I would carry a spare! Or fit electronic ignition and do away with those pesky points and condensors. eats ducks and leaves. I vote for this too - use a 2nd had distributer of an 80's Nissan (just get the right type), change the feed dog, do so...

Basis rubber is pretty good, there is a guy in Wellington who has parts, there is a wrecker in Cambridge who has heaps of moggie parts, but I too use ESM in England, the prices are OK and the delivery times are pretty quick.

Who'd have thought in 2010, there would still be many thousands of Moggies tootling about! With I suspect twice as many stuck in garages as either projects or awaiting refurbishment. :D Only twice? I have 3 (OK 4 if you count the cab and chassis). I would guess that for every moggie on the road the...

Not sure, as am in a different country, but lots of interviews have the same types of questions: Give me an example of a conflict, and how you dealt with it. How do you deal with stress? And the best advice is be yourself :) When I have been the interviewer, the two things I want to know is: Can the...

Re: Unwanted Engine Noise
Are you sure it isn't the timing? If my moggie is too far advanced, it makes all sorts of unpleasant noises when I rev it.MColes wrote: This time it only occurs when the engine has warmed up and I rev the engine. Sounds more like a tapping than a banging from the bottom end though this time.
