I wonder if they could zinc plate the whole car at the same time? That said, if I were a sheik I'd go for gold plating the chuffer :D There is a firm at Liverpool who specilaist in delicate items had will do complete shells. At one show they had a Fiat 500 on display that was competley galv'd. Paul H

Re: Borg Warner 65 Auto Boxes - Any Experts Out There?
Hi, Getting close(?) to running up the Pick-up for the first time but need some advice on the BW65 gearbox that it has fitted;- 1)How do you check oil level on dip-stick? Running? Stationary? Hot? Cold? 2) How does the kick-down cable come out of the 'box (too short)? 3) Anyone have a workshop manu...

When I sold my Land Rover Discovery the buyer wanted me to see if I could arrange transportation so I simply looked on eBay and numerous firms offering services. In the end it was a firm who transported cars for the motor trade and collected te Disco on a return trip with an otherwise empty tranport...

Well - pressure washing slabs is the most miserable job in the World - so you will be glad of a few 'cooling off' breaks ! Sadly - my machine soldiers on relentlessly! I have a long (maybe 100+ feet) sandstone wall around my house (built in an old quarry hence sandstone in abundance and used to ret...

Fiat are runnning an advert on local radio. Cheapest new Panda is £6999 and they are reducing price by £1000. You then have £2000 scrapage allowance leaving £3999 to be paid over 4 years on interest free credit. Sounds too good to be true - brand new car for £3999 ! If I could afford the monthly pay...

The Cortina axle, isn't that a few inches wider than the Escort one ( trouble with wheel selection ?) I think it might be as well. A neigbour used to race a MKII Escort superstock or whatever. For a whole season he hauled around a spare axle only to find it was a MKI Capri item and too wide. I beli...

But if its for drilling out thousands of spotwelds,go for a cheep corded drill. Not much use in a garage without power  Consider an inverter and corded drill running off a leisure battery ? Personally I've had quite a few cordless drills and my current one is a SITE from Screwfix. It's basica...
