Thanks for response (I told the friend when I was talking to him last night that if I put a question up for him I'd get response over night) The 1098 gearbox would be the solution, but not so easy to find. We only had them in LCV as the saloons ceased production here at Series III. Certianally are a...

1098 engine to smooth box

I have a cobber who is working on a '61 traveller. It has a 1098 engine and clutch and pressure plate but a smooth (948) gearbox. I understand it was modded to fit. Tell me about this (I know it has been mentioned here and I've looked through about 7 pages in this section and found a little info) Is...

What model is that? I may well have it - is it the Gaydon one?

While on models - Does any one know the cheapest source for the new Minichamps models? I'm wanting to get some for resale here in NZ? PM me if you can help.

MGB / Minor PCD ??

A few questions here!

Would MGB wheels fit a minor?

What's the PCD of the MGB? - Minor is 4x4"

Would the offset be different? What is minor?

What the stud thread on MGB? - Minor is 3/8"

Just located a set of MGB mags a fellow took off his car to put the car back onto steels.

RE: steering wheel nut

big - I got my mechanic to undo it for me when I was in there and then drove home with it finger tight and pulled the steering wheel off then. Dad has got his ½" drive socket set with larger sizes back from his brother but I'm not sure if that has the right size in it. If no one knows off the t...

In the past I probably did eat a little into work time (just overlap from lunch or before work). I voted no as I never am on during work time now. I'm also trying to give up using internet auction sites during work time. . . can be hard as I run some auctions for work too, so its always temptign to ...

While many have there pet names for their individual cars, here "morrie" is the general for a morris minor - or frequently a "Morrie Minor". Since it is usally said and when written its the proper Morris Minor, "Morrie" gets spelt a number of ways; Morrie, Morry, and on...

Morris tranny in a Trumpet?

I just received an email from a Minor friend who received an email from another person (you know how it goes). With the following enquiry. I am grasping at straws here, but I recently got my hands on a 1985 Trident triumph with a bum tranny. I have no idea how to get parts for such an item or how to...

RE: Best rust treatment...Jenolite or Kurust??

How did you (and others) get on with Jenolite? The instructions on my bottle said to thin with water, let soak, then wash off. (Or something to that effect) I found when treating bare metal it did a great job and changed the rust to black, But when you left the panel to dry the water made it rust ag...

So then what (roughly) does all this cost Unfortunately I can't help much in that area as pricing will be different on this side of the world. Here you can pick up a pretty good 2 or 4dr body for very little, so it is not worth starting on something that needs much work. Those in your corner of the...

The vans (and by the sound if it travs) do rust around the roof. But I'd say it would take a bit for a saloon (which it seems dermot has) to rust considering the curved shape as opposed to the more level vans and travs. If its rusting there could one assume to it might have more serious problems els...
