I have used cable ties in place of the fan belt on a fiesta van i used to drive for work. you could do about 3 miles before they snapped and needed replacing.
also used them in place of exhaust mountings several times.

just my 2p but would it be better to have a "virtual" meeting over IRC or similar? it would mean the traders would not all have to travel to one place to discuss the problem. If face to face would be better wouldn't the AGM be a better place than the national. i would imagine most traders ...

7 days left on the MOT

with 7 days to go and an impending faliure I am taking my mog up to staffordshire and putting it away until funds allow. This could be interesting in a car that has done 385 miles in 3 years! (most of them to the MOT station and back!) I have a spare rotor arm, dizzy cap, plugs, leads plenty of wate...

I'll update my profile when i get a moment. glad the trav is running well. probably better than my 2 door at the moment the MOT is abo...

Origional (ish) Purchase receipt

I have been going through my MOUNTAIN of car related paperwork and have found a receipt for a car I don't own (and have never owned). It is for a Morris Minor registration RLG 601D. It is not the original purchase receipt but for a second hand purchase when it was one year old. The DVLA say it is cu...

Something more comfortable than the standard rear seats...... how about paving slabs!
More seriously, I firmed mine up by sticking a load of extra wadding into them. It makes them much more comfy. If money is no object then Newton commercial do superb replacement seats.

It has taken me 3 months to get a VSA test date out of them so I am not overly impressed with the service. You are right though, they bank your cheque within 10 seconds of recieving it! if their customer service was as efficient as their accounts department then it would be the best in the worls :wi...
