Looks like it was leaking from around the float chamber.
Will re-build it with seal kit. Its a H1 with 601 coding on the side.

Real mismatch with this car, 948cc with an earlier carb!

Anyone got an idea what model number of carb my splittys running?!? Just jumped in to take him out for a spin but the carb was leaking fuel. Wow, if it is a standard finish on the underside I have a splitscreen which has not been welded other than two points on the sills. Im instantly thinking it wont be quite right, ratiowise, speed wise and living with for a daily commute 20 miles will I be regretting sticking with it??

Loved the travellers setup with stock 948 gear, hoping for the same.
