Re: Convertible question

Thanks Guys, that’s a great help, I’m a little unsure about a non genuine one, only for the reason of the new MOT regs coming in! I presume if it was done a few years ago it would matter less?
Cheers.

Convertible question

Hi all, I’m considering changing my Traveller for a convertible. Can you please tell me if there are any drawbacks with running one, it will live outside, with a decent cover. I wonder how noisy they are ( with the hood up ) ? And are there any problems with water tightness ? I will be grateful for ...

Re: Brakes

Thanks Phil,
I will have that bearing number please, so the inner one is a standard one for a marina? Also I keep meaning to ask someone, what, who whatever is “grumpy”?

Re: Brakes

I tried to put a couple of pics on here but the files were too big, I haven’t got a clue how to make them smaller!
Anyway I was thinking, if they are tapered bearings, can they be adjusted? I’m sure it’s the bearings I can rock the disk and nothing else is moving.

Brakes

Hi all, I have disk brakes on the front of my Traveller and I need to put new wheel bearing on, my question is, how do I know which disk setup it is? I’m presuming you need different bearings than the original drum brake ones?

Lub for steering rack

Hi all, In my handbook it says to ludricate the steering rack with oil in grease nipple. Is there a proper oil gun for the job? I’ve tried with my grease guns, just goes everywhere except the rack! Can you use grease? Any help will be gratefully received, thanks, Tone

Front dampers

Hi all, I don’t know if it’s normal but, when I go near a pot hole or such there is such a clunk that I think the car is about to fall apart!! I have fitted, gas dampers on the back, and on the front there are gas dampers and the original suspension units have had the valves removed, I tried to drai...

Re: 5 speed gearbox

Thanks, it sounds really interesting, presumably you have to get a gearbox and the conversion kit? Do you use any Sierra box? Also with the hand brake cables, do you cut them down or can you buy the right length? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I’m very interested in this conversation, I love th...

Hi all, Has anyone tried the 5speed gearbox conversion kit offered by David Manners Group? Does it work? What’s it like to set up! Any thoughts would be welcome. Cheers.
