Re: Home (replica) Chrome kits

Hi I wasn’t thinking of that, more like in the link below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLtrFF-hubs A bit like breaking bad. It’s just that 5 months without any shiny bits after sooo much effort to sort the rest of the car out seems a bit of a pain. Thinking of the electro plating for the small p...

Home (replica) Chrome kits

Hi All I'm approaching the end of my restoration of my '64 4 door. I've been looking for professional re chroming but they all seem to have about a 5 month plus wait. I'm wondering if anyone has used any of the home kits that are available and how they got on. I'm thinking for all the smaller bits, ...

Re: Spare battery!

Hope you dont mind me reserecting this old thread. I'm renovating my '64 salon to use as my dailey drive and was thinking about Infotainment systems. Has anyone fitted one and if so how does it work? Any power issues. Which system did you go for.
Appologies if this has been covered.

ESM servo instructions

Hi All
Long story short, I’ve lost the instructions to fit my servo. ESM sent me a diagram for the pipe work but could do with some instructions for the fitting. Any help, photos etc would be great. Many thanks

Swivel pin replacement

Forgive me if this is a well covered subject, but I’m struggling with getting my off side swivel pin, complete with new top and bottom bushes etc back on, along with the tie bar. Could someone talk me through it, as it’s driving me mad. It all came off fairly straight forwardly 😁👏. I’m sure it’s som...

Re: Engine bust, what replacement

Once again thanks for the replies. We’ve poured petrol down the spark plug holes, not sure about boiling water in the hose areas. I was going to part ex, but as was said above, that may not be possible. Any recommendations for engines?

Re: Engine bust, what replacement

Wow, thanks everyone for such top info.
I’m going to go for the cheap / simple option of recon replacement. Apart from the usual Charlie’s / Bull Etc could anyone recommend any engine recon company’s?
Cheers 👍

Hi Once again, Would the Midget just drop in. Thats to say, would the pump etc all just transfer over. Sorry to be so thick, as I said earlier, the work is being done by someone else. Would it create much more work for them? It it it a bit tricky, I'm thinking of just getting a recon one from one th...

Hi Phil. Many thanks for your advice. Would a 1275 provide much more power than the 1098?

Engine bust, what replacement

I am having my '64 1098 4 door restored, but it seems that i dropped a clanger 17 years ago when putting it in my mates barn by not draining the water. The restorer (not me) has tried the usual tricks to get it moving, but no go, its stuck solid. My question is, what do I replace it with. I'm thinki...

Re: New Member with 4 door restoration planned

Hi Palacebear. Heres a few examples of the initial work to be done, after I get the wheels turning, brakes stopping and engine at least thinking about turning. It mostly seems to be on the off side, I had quite a bit of work done on the near side , which seems to be ok. Thing is, I’m thinking that w...

New Member with 4 door restoration planned

Hi Everyone I’ve had my Moggie for 17 yrs. used it everyday until my job ment driving 1hr 40 mins each way to work. It’s been in a dry(ish) barn for the last 10yrs until now, when I think it needs to be back on the road. At the moment the starter is stuck, but after this long I didn’t expect to even...
