Gasket problem ???

I was driving my car today just to get some heat into the engine and to make sure the brakes don't bind when I noticed a rattling sound from somewhere in the car, then when I listened (as best I could) a bit more it sounded a bit exhausty, but there was no drop in engine noise or performance or anyt...

Broken Indicator

Just noticed that my left front indicator does not work. I have tried changing the bulb to no avail. I can only presume there is a loose wire somewhere, but does anyone have any suggestions on where to look to fix the problem ???

Re-spraying

Does anyone have any advice on how to go about re-spraying a car ? I thought I had the money to get my green four door redone but after my recent wedding I don't :( . So now I have to have a go myself. I have a compressor, spray gun etc and know a bit about sanding and preparation having done small ...

My Wedding 6th September

Just thought I'd share a picture of Gertie (1962 2dr Saloon) which we used as our wedding car last week. This is just a picture outside our wedding venue in Ghan House, Carlingford, Co. Louth. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t28/iandromiskin/308172_10150291383468110_588588109_7972187_1068727683_n...

Re: Green Goddess Fire Engine

Oh I'd imagine the petrol consumption is something to behold all right. Never driven one. Just a dream of Bedford ownership. Some people at my age want a mercedes or a bmw, I want an old fire-engine :D

Disc Brake Swap

Question - There are disc brakes fitted to the blue traveller and I was wondering if it was possible to remove these, presumably the whole leg fitting, and swap it with a the standard front suspension on my green car ?? I'm only thinking from the point of view of safety. The traveller has a servo to...

They don't make them like they used too

I got my two door black saloon off her axle stands the other day after about two years in the air and I was very pleased to find that I managed to start her engine, after a little bit of coaxing (I obviously changed the petrol, checked levels etc), so I was well pleased. I had taken the interior out...

I know this question had been asked before, it must have been, but does anyone have a simple easy to follow guide or advice on how to service a Minor other that read or follow Hayes, this book or that book ??? My black moggie has been sitting on stands for about a year as she needs a tiny bit of wel...

Re: 1989 Nissan Micra

LOL. The usual Morris places then :) Yeah its the one in Wexford all right. Hes asking 450.00e. Says its mechanically sound but only has pin points of rust, no holes, with dents on bonnet and doors and usual scraps. Sounds cosmitically ugly but mechanically sound (???). Claims is was all courtesy of...

Totally off topic, but I see one of these on the irish site Donedeal.ie and I am interested in maybe buying it. I always loved these and I think they are a future classic, but does anyone know what to look for in a second hand micra so that I know what to look out for IF i go to look at it ?? Owner ...

Is a normal four door 948cc saloon capable of pulling one of these do you think ? Seller says he pulls it behind his 1098cc Traveller :-?

Re: Morris Minor Trailer

Cool 8) That is just what I would love. Its a pity is so far on the east coast. But very very tempted. Its the right color too !!! Thanks for the link. PS. Just looked it up on AA routefinder. It would actually only take about 3 hours to drive from Liverpool. Maybe its not too far after all :-?

Re: Quandary - should I or not

Cheers Guys. I know what you mean. It is too good to scrap and in time it may see the road again. Space is not a problem and its sat there for so long now I'm sure another few years won't do it any harm. Someone posted an eBay link to a Saloon trailer that I keep an eye on, so who knows. Thanks ever...

Quandary - should I or not

What do people think - I have had the blue traveller below for over eight years and in that time have done very little to it other than store it in a shed. Although long term storage isn't a problem it is clear I have neither the time nor skill to restore it and get it back on the road. So what shou...
