Breakfast on pluto

I've just been Morris minor spotting the film 'breakfast on pluto' where I counted about 8, but one of the cars had headlight peaks. But I thought they were an after market, ie modern or recent accessory, and not fitted as standard. Am I wrong ????

Fibre Glass Boot Lid

Just wondering if these are worth the purchase ? My steel boot lid is rusty and I'm not sure if I have the time or money to replace it with a new repair. I want to get my car back on the road for the summer as a daily driver and am not really that bothered about concours or originality with it as it...

Re: Rhodesian Export

Hi. I have a car too that was originally exported to that Zimbabwe in 1958 direct from the factory and lived out there until it came back to the uk in 2002. I have it now in Ireland. I don't think mine has that plate you speak of but I'll have a look. Good to know my car is not the only survivor.

SORN and door hinges

Two questions here - Firstly I have a UK reg car that I declared SORN last year and the date of liability was in Dec 2010. I presume, obvioulsy, that I have to re SORN it, but will that be a problem that I missed the December deadline ?? Secondly, I'm trying to take the door hinges off a car but the...

Re: Grrrrrr ....

No, its the holey kind. Definately eaten through the metal beside the weld as I can see into the box section behind (which appears fine thank god, but time will tell when I take off the kickplate :-?)

Grrrrrr ....

I'm slowly getting around to getting 4 door green saloon back on the road. There is nothing wrong with, but I have taken some panals off to be sprayed and I have to fit seatbelts. But when I got the car I was shown how perfect it was underneath and how it had all been lovely undersealed, and to the ...

Welding setting

I think this question has been asked and answered before..... but I recently bought a small Sealey 150amp Mightmig to practise weling on and to use on restorations etc. I have only now been able to get time to play with it and I was wondering what the ideal setting is for minor bodywork ? As you may...

Interior colour 1969 Car

I recently bought what turned out to be a 1969 Irish registered Maroon B four door car that I'm currently taking apart to find out how bad it really is to see if I will restore it. I bought this car because it had a black interior (seats and doorcards) which I wanted to use in my other Green 1958 fo...

Re: tonks my 1967 4dr :0)

Hi. I have a 1972 four door that I recently bought (and thinking of selling). Its in much worse condition that yours, think rusty swiss cheese, but as its an Irish 4 door car it may be worth seriously restoring by someone. So I'm very interested to hear of your progress and look forward to following...

Bless This House

I was watching the film version of Bless This House this morning as it has a uniquly painted Morris Convertable. Just for fun I looked up the registrain (1835 MX) but didn't expect to see much as I would have assumed that the car was long gone, but the DVLA site came back with The vehicle details fo...

How to make seat base ?

Totally off the wall question here. I have a spare set of seats from the traveller and I had the idea of making them into functional domestic seating for everyday home and garden use, and I was wondering if anyone had ever made or has any idea of how to make a frame to support them ? Basically I wan...
