sender unit for splitty 1953
hi ! following some meter readings of a full scale deflection on my splitty fuel gauge, it was determined that the full is obtained by a 400 ohm resistance while empty is obtained by shorting to earth. My actual sender unit (not sure if it was ever paired to my gauge) was giving readings of much hig...

Re: fuel Gauge split screen
quoted from wilson auto Using GM as an example, and many other classic manufacturers will be similar, lets discuss some of the specifics of the sender. Older GM cars from the 30s through the 60s have senders that work on a 30 ohm scale range. Zero ohms means the tank is empty and 30 ohms mean the ta...

Re: bonnet latch pin
just for the records, the bonnet was not closing properly because the bonnet latch spring was fully compressed and was hindering any further adjustment of the bonnet closure.
for the 2nd time (in 3 restorations) i had to cut a couple of turns off the spring !!

Re: bonnet latch pin
It looks to be the right length. For comparison:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Morris-minor-bonnet-catch-used/282843674957?hash=item41dacbf94d:g:tsUAAOSwmFNZZ9f2 The early pins were 3/8" BSF Pt No: AAA1865, the later pins were 3/8" UNF Pt No: 14A6586. The later pins are available from MOSS....

Re: fuel pump ticking but no fuel out
thanks!! the pump is pumping air so maybe diaphragm is intact, i'll put some more fuel in tank and maybe use a compressor through the pipes to ensure no blockages. Should i prime the feeder pipe would it help?

Re: Trafficators in use
Agreed they'd be good as under-bumper additionals if orange and with a suitable flash-rate (if self-flashing). Dynamoregulatorconversions recommend coloured LEDs for most applications, e.g. red LED bulbs behind a red stop/tail lens, which I have recently fitted. Yo PB Good hols ? Good ta FD. Flight...
