Re: No more Midget Gems
Dont know what is going on with this woke lot. All I was doing was showing him my motorbike and how the manual advance retard works with a lever on the handlebar on my old bike. He got the hump over it. He said should not say the R word as it could offend someone and then walked off.

Double Trouble.
Saw this at a show. 2 steering wheels and controls at both ends. I guess instead of going in reverse you just get out of one end and get into the other.

No more Midget Gems
So now they are called Mini Gems, does that mean we can't call an MG Midget a midget and have to call it an MG Mini?

Speedometer inaccuracy.
This has been talked about many times but I bought a GPS speedo to test against the Morris speedo. The Morris speedo was 10 mph over and got worse the faster I went. I made a video to show it. I guess its the radial tyres that is causing it or maybe the speedo needs calibrating? https://www.youtube....

Can I mix E10 with E5 petrol?
I need to fill up with fuel but can only get E10 with this fuel problem, Is it ok to top up with E10 or will it muck up the running of the engine?
I normally put E5 in but its luck if I can get any E5.

Re: Accident rate caused by Classics MOT exemption ?
The last time I took the Morris to the garage for the MOT the elderly mechanic said to me don't bring the car here when I'm not here as the younger mechanics don't know what a drum brake is, No I couldn't believe it either. I though a lot of modern cars still had drums on the rear. The old boy also ...

We all went shopping in the Morris 4 up.
It's the first time I have taken 3 passengers in the car, It was a squeeze getting them in but the Morris didn't complain. Even the standard brakes worked well.

Re: Value of our Minors
I'm a long distance courier with timed deliveries. I cover 500 miles a day. there is NO WAY I could do that with a Electric van. If I need fuel then I need to fill up and be on the road straight away. I just can't see how they are going to do away with petrol or diesel. Same with HGV lorries I can't...

Re: over reading speedo
Mine is the same, I'm thinking its to do with the tyre size. Did Morris Minors have crossply tyres originally as they are a bigger tyre than radials and that would explain the difference.

Bangers and Cash 210,000 miles
Ok it was an original Mini but I could not believe it. 210,000 miles on the original engine and still its original clutch
I didnt think an A series engine could do that amount of miles without a rebuild let alone the clutch.

Re: Dealer or private purchase?
I bought a classic vehicle about 2 years ago from a dealer, I drove it only half a mile down the road and the engine packed up. The dealer came out and changed the condenser, the coil, the points, the petrol pump and it still didn't run. He towed it back and gave me a refund. That would not happen w...
