Re: Little Jack.

Thanks Phil.

It is an LJ31, but does not have the same handle arrangement as the ones on the site.

I think it could be a 'marriage'.

Thanks, John.

Little Jack.

I bought this little Shelley jack. It is dated 1954; a bit older than my Minor. I know these Shelley jacks have lots of different handle types, and I was wondering if anyone knows which type of handle this one should have? The hole is 13/16" and the little hole in the end is 5/16". There is a sprung...

Re: Setting up vacuum advance on distributor

How do you set the vacuum advance unit if you do not have any reference points, such as a rusty mark?
Thanks, John.

Re: public information

My dad was born in 1910, and it was interesting to view the 1911 census and see his name there. I am a bit suspicious of some of the new questions now though. If I was going to make a public information film, it would be telling people to stop cycling and E-scooting on the pavements. No surprise the...

public information

What is the point of the public information film currently on TV that advises drivers that break down to 'go left' on the motorway? Even if your stricken car, and other drivers will allow you to go left; what is the point on a 'smart' motorway? You will not find a hard shoulder, and would be very lu...

Re: What would you do?

I don't think the Subaru driver would have blocked my way if I had been driving a Kenneth Noye type black Range Rover with tinted windows. I think he thought he could have some fun with an old Morris Minor driver. I generally get more intolerance driving my Minor than I do driving my modern car. Sma...

Re: What would you do?

Great replies. Thanks everyone. I do not cope well with this kind of situation. I wonder what behaviour on the roads will be like from Monday onwards as lockdown eases more? Police rely on drivers handing in dash cam footage to catch dangerous drivers these days. Personally, I would like to see many...

What would you do?

A few years ago I was happily driving my white convertible down a suburban street close to my home. There were no parked cars; but there was a skip positioned on the opposite side of the road to me. As I came alongside the skip, a Subaru Impreza roared round the corner in front of me, and positioned...

Marina Hubs

Pair of Marina hubs for sale, so you can do your own disc conversion.

Price is £40 if you pick them up from Nottingham NG9. I can post them, but it would cost £15 because the package would weigh 5 kilos.

Thanks, John
