Hi again Apologies for invading someone else's post as I'm new to posting on this forum and not exactly sure how to place new posts but I will have a look around and it won't happen again..a quick update on my progress...its running and pulling 100% better thanks to myjalopy advising me to check for...

Thanks again myjalopy I will have another tinker today starting with checking for binding of the wheels (brakes).
The dizzy doesn't have the knurled nut like the 25D did..the engine was rebuilt about 3years ago I am led to believe..thanks again much appreciated

Would the fact that I put a 45D dizzy in affect how the timing should be set despite what the manual says which I assume covers the original 25D thanks myoldjolopy

Ye it starts no problem first turn of the key...pump works very well. I drained the tank and refilled and pump performed as it should..I have no knocking whilst revving..obviously I can't take it for a good run due to lack of power but on last inspection..yesterday the plugs looked like new after le...

Hi guys and gals please help to solve my problem ive tried everything...new distributor with points set at .15..new condensor....timing set at between 3AND5dg BFTC...ive drained the fuel tank and added new unleaded (recent engine rebuild to allow unleaded)...carb cleaned and drained of old fuel...3i...

No I didn't use the new electronic distributor thinking it was faulty..so reverted back to my points dizzy....after finally sorting it out I'm thinking now that the electronic distributor was probably ok that's maybe another project for another time now...like I said in previous posts I like to have...

Yes after thinking about it had to be 180° out but I decided not to fit my electronic distributor assuming it was faulty so dropped the points dizzy back in at what I thought was the correct position comparing where the vacuum advance was pointing prior to removal but was not to be...I assumed there...

Hi yes you guessed it I'm in a right mess now ive replaced the old dizzy and I just don't seem to be getting anywhere so much head scratching I'm ready to get rid...I just know something very simple is stopping it from firing but I can't fathom it out..il strip it all out again next week just in cas...

I assume the new distributor i bought wouldn't work because i have a 25D in my car but tried to fit the 45D. No. The 45D will work as a replacement for the 25D. There are dozens of confirmations of this on this site. Some even argue that it will work better than the 25D because as a later unit, it ...

I to have just fitted a electronic distributor to my mog and am confused about the wiring from the dizzy to coil and the live feed to the coil I'm totally stumped and can't get my mog up and running
