Have you ever seen anything as bad as this?

Title says it all really. Just browsing through MM related stuff on Fleabay to see if anything caught my eye to buy or bid on when I spotted this 'gem'. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F173934177778 Really, it looks as though it was hand-crafted by S...

Re: Loose quarterlight lever

Thanks for your advice chaps. I've actually gone down the 'cheap 'n cheerful' route and wrapped a thread tightly around the spigot. I tried cotton at first but that kept breaking so I used a few threads of some nylon garden twine...….and it has worked a treat! It'll probably work loose again eventua...

Loose quarterlight lever

Ok, not exactly a life-threatening issue but it's annoying me nonetheless......... The offside quaterlight lever is not loose as such but when I open the quarterlight wndow the lever flops to a 'quarter to six' position rather than staying at 'nine O'clock'. Obviously this means that when I want to ...

Re: black streaks on white paintwork

I was only being mischievously facetious of course :D . You should try reading my favourite football club's fans forum!! There is plenty of use of 'ye olde Anglo Saxon' on that site which circumvents the swear filter by all sorts of devious means (eg: use of $ and @ symbols, umlauts etc, etc). Somet...

Re: E-bay Scammers

Well, you've got to give these scumbags full marks for ingenuity and persistence. There's the usual crop of fake vehicles for sale again today but now they're using a symbol above the letter 'n' to presumably get round some sort of filter that was automatically removing them. Fortunately, I have rul...

Re: E-bay Scammers

You're not the only one who has reported these scumbags to eBay. I've done it multiple times and never even had an acknowledgement. I know these scammers use a different user-id every time so it can't be easy to keep on top of them. Yet somebody at eBay must be monitoring what gets listed as only re...

Re: Stopped getting notifications

I might be being a bit dim here...…..err, won't be the first time in my life...….but I don't get what the problem is! I'm a relative 'newbie' (joined last Oct) so I really don't know what the norm is. I 'tune in ' to the forum most days as I have it set as one of my favourites on my laptop and I jus...

Re: MM sound insulation/proofing

Just 1 tin of the adhesive was plenty. On the flat surfaces i.e. floor and transmission tunnel you don't need to cover every square inch with adhesive. Do use plenty if/when insulating the bonnet however.

Re: MM sound insulation/proofing

To be honest I cannot remember how much I ordered. I think it was about 5 metres and that was enough to line all the interior of the car (front and rear floor pans, transmission tunnel, and the bulkhead up to the parcel shelf), the bonnet, the boot lid and there was enough left over for a boot 'carp...

Re: Pirelli Cinturato tyres.

Thanks for your pointers re tyre pressures MM. I think I'll start with 24 (fr) & 26 (r) and as you suggest, experiment a bit from there.

FYI I am from downtown South Yorkshire.

Thanks again everyone.

Re: Pirelli Cinturato tyres.

Decision made! - I'm going for a set of Bridgestones, which I'll have fitted in a couple of week's time (I'm on holiday next week). Whilst I've got your attention, what's the consensus (if any) on tyre pressures please? ie. just for leisurely runs and not high speed motorway cruising, of course. Tha...

Pirelli Cinturato tyres.

Firstly, not sure if this topic is correctly located in 'General Discussion', 'Mechanical' or 'Other Topic' so if it needs re-directing can someone please either do it for me or let me know, Thanks. I know for many, this may seem a tad over the top but I am seriously considering investing in a new s...

Re: Unblocking engine coolant drain tap passage

BREAKING NEWS...…...Citric acid works a treat getting rid of tea stains in a metal teapot!! More seriously, I went for a half decent run today in my '62 saloon fresh with its unblocked water jacket drain tap and re-cored radiator and the temp gauge maintained a constant 88 degrees (it does have an 8...

Re: Unblocking engine coolant drain tap passage

Sorry for slight delay chaps in bringing you the final episode...….well, it's not quite really. More of that in a mo! The engine drain blockage was actually shifted by a couple of blasts of compressed air!! Someone who has been very kind and helpful to me at my local MMOC group very generously offer...

It's usually nice to see pictures of ongoing restorations but if there is 'someone naked'...….perhaps this is not the place  Obviously, colour is all a matter of personal choice and for me I can't think of anything worse than a lilac traveller - with or without red trim. Personally, I'm not a ...
