Re: Noise from the rear end!!
Many thanks, gentlemen for your helpful thoughts and suggestions. Apologies for my slightly tardy response but I had my Covid 'booster' on Tuesday and apart from my upper arm feeling as though it had been kicked by a horse, I was generally feeling a bit rubbish, until today. Before I go on to sugges...

Noise from the rear end!!
Hello guys 'n gals - I've been plagued for ages with a noise coming from the rear......er, settle down at the back and the rest of you, just behave and stop making your own jokes up. :D Seriously though, on my 4 door saloon, I can't seem to identify a clonking sound definitely coming from behind me,...

Re: Inter Club Weekend
I too am not averse to multi-club events but I can't see this being promoted much by the MMOC, as it is taking place on the same weekend as our own National Rally at Gaydon. It will be my first visit to a 'National' where I will be manning a stand to promote the Dual Personality Register.

Re: Electric Fuel Pump SU v Hardi
In the interests of the scientific research path down which this thread seems to be going :) .........all I can say, is that I fitted a Hardi pump over 4 years ago and it's been fine ever since. I've no idea what output capacity is supposed to be - as far as I recall, I just bought it and fitted it,...

Re: Fitting hazard lights kit
Just a quick and sincere thank you to Berni for the excellent description and diagram. Despite a couple of bumps along the way (entirely my fault, I must add) I have successfully installed a hazard flasher set up on my car, which has the DB10 relay fitted. A slight minor (I know! :D ) complication o...

Re: Dual Personality Register
I'm going to send you a PM shortly, MM. If anyone else wants to join the register please feel free to PM me. My co-registrar is in the final stages of setting up a website, a link to which I will post on here when it is up and running. There are 22 Dual Personality Minors currently logged on the reg...

Chassis numbers v bulkhead numbers.
I mentioned a couple of months ago that I somehow ended up as joint registrar for the 'Dual Personality Minors' register!! A long story, I'll not bore you with now. :D The new register is going pretty well, mainly thanks to the F/book page and a bit of a feature in the latest issue of Minor Matters ...

Re: Virtually all electrical system gone.....!
Thanks very much for your input chaps....apologies for leading you astray. NUMPTY ALERT: You are quite right Simon.....the fused thick wire was to the ammeter NOT the voltmeter. In my (very weak) defence, I do have both and they sit side by side in a double bracket. I know!! Also, it was only when I...

Re: Virtually all electrical system gone.....!
CRACKED IT............Well, at least the reason, if not the cause! Not too long after I bought my Moggy I (with advice) fitted a voltmeter. I used suitably thick cable and ensured it was well protected against chafing as it passed through and back out of the bulkhead. I was also advised to fit an in...

Re: Virtually all electrical system gone.....!
Apologies gentlemen if I appear to have been rude by not thanking you or even acknowledging your input but I have been in bed for the best part of 2 days feeling really rubbish with a stinker of cold (proper man flu?) and only this afternoon dragged myself into the garage to check out your suggestio...

Virtually all electrical system gone.....!
In preparation for me fitting a hazard warning flasher system on my '62 saloon with a DB10 relay, I bought some LED dual purpose front side lights bulbs which I was hoping would show a standard white light for the sidelights and an amber light for the indicators. (I have already fitted an LED lightb...

Dual Personality Register
As any club members may have read in Minor Matters, the so-called 'Dual Personality' Register is being relaunched jointly by Jack Howkins and myself. I say 'relaunched' because the information previously given has now seemingly been lost to the club!! A new Facebook page can be accessed on https://w...

Re: A breathing question
Thanks all, for your responses. I'm breathing a lot easier now.......as is the car!! :D Why is the hole so small on the air filter base plate though, if as seems likely, it can easily get blocked up? My engine does drip a bit of oil but I wouldn't say excessively so. I'll have to put a clean piece o...

A breathing question
No, not for me! :D My '62 4 x door has the breather set up as per the pic of my engine bay. For the lack of something better to do, I smartened up the air filter box the other day, by stripping and respraying it. During the old paint removal, I noticed that the pipe/tube on the bottom plate of the a...

Re: Government Alerts
I've already experienced it, I was in Cologne last year when the Germans did their first test, nothing dramatic just a message comes up on your phone. Personally I'd be far more worried about the Elon Musk's of the world than governments, virtually every IT project they attempt (this applies to bot...

Re: SJM Morris Minors of Dronfield??
When I picked my car up recently from Simon, having had quite a bit of work done and with only a text message of what 'the damage' (i.e. to my finance) would be, the first thing I said was that he needs to have a look at his prices. The relief on his face was palpable when I said that he needs to pu...

Re: Limited Mileage Insurance requires annual MOT?
As I retired insurance company manager and subsequently broker, I can, hopefully, comment with a bit of authority. In short, if in doubt, give your insurer as much info as you can.....even if they don't ask for it! A simple email stating your speedo reading, when renewing your policy, is then record...
