Just been checking again ,the brake lights work fine ,the indicators all flash weakly indicating left or right ,front is stronger than rear but indicator arm down or up all 4 flash weakly .

Very dim rear indicators and brake lights

Found this problem today ,rear indicators very weak and both flash weakly ,the brake lights are also weak .
if it was only flashers I would be thinking of getting a new flasher unit . It could be a bad earth , apart from the earth points at the rear lights where else should I check .

Thanks for all the useful comments , I have ordered a speedo from ESM and will let you know if I have made a good choice once it is fitted . Re: 1960 saloon fuel sender

Thanks for your help , it may be more accurate than I think as I was working on a 5 gallon tank ,and when indicating just under half full took 18 litres .
I will carry a spare 5 litres once I am getting low and then I will know exactly how accurate it is .

1960 saloon fuel sender

Hi could someone help by explaining how to calibrate the petrol tank fuel sender on a 1960 saloon with the silver faced speedo .
At the moment it shows just under half full when there is one gallon left in the tank .
I am assuming that a 1960 car has a 5 gallon tank .

Re: 1960 minor speedo removal

The problem is solved ,I have a friend who worked for the police , I told him i suspected that my speedo had been glued in position . He produced a liquid that melts glue , he used it to remove adhesive left on panels when decals were removed . Spayed in seam left for 30 minutes used a suction thing...
