Re: Steering Rack

I tightened the yokes up before fitting the column however I did ensure it was through the bulkhead and it wasn't fouling the bulkhead. I also moved / rattled the rack before finally tightening the yolks to ensure as best I could that it was in a good position. I cant imagine its in the wrong positi...

Re: Steering Rack

I must have a crap grease gun as i didnt have much success using it with EP 90
Also hen I move the wheels from side to side (off the ground) it doesnt feel like a smooth action
Its difficult to see how it can be fitted incorrectly if the spline fits through the bulkhead
Any thoughts ?

Re: Steering Rack

use a ball joint splitter.
a recon rack is so cheap its a no brainer.
check if its lubricated BEFORE you refit.
get a mate to be in the car to get the four off fixing bolts off.
otherwise it appears to be the easiest job i have done. its not finished yet however...

Re: Convertible - suspension options - opinions please!

I have same issues at the moment. I have removed a lowering kit and considering getting rid of the telescopic dampers I owned a traveller 40 years ago but haven't driven others since I aquired my latest saloon and I too wonder if its actually a normal ride now. I certainly dont recall a harsh ride h...

Re: Softer Ride

Fast and hard is deffinatly not my thing, Especially in a car..
Im replacing the rack soon as its a bit clunky and once this is done i will look further into the ride.
I have spent $£€ on suspension set up on race bikes in another life and I hope I dont need it now ive reverted to a Moggie

Re: Softer Ride

Removing the lowerering kit did make a difference but perhaps it was bottoming out The shox were bought as a kit from ESM looking at the receipt but not sure what rate they are I may revert back to original to get back to a baseline I cant think why there is a need to mess with the suspension. Its a ...
