Re: Ford discs-sticking caliper?
First thing I would say is this style of brake setup has the disc front mounted (unlike the old marina setup with rear mounted discs) so as soon as you remove the road wheel the disc tends to move outwards so if the disc is not retained you will show a smaller gap one side to the other, the front di...

Re: Wheel and hubcap ID
Marina / ital wheels would be 13" diameter, and should have 8 slots in, all cars, coupes and estates had 3 ¾” pcd, Some vans had 4 ½” pcd from memory and some of the wheels were solid with no slots in, I think this was on the higher load rated vans, Triumph Dolomite had 9 slot wheels but look v...

Re: Series 2 rear screen pitting and edge nibbling.....
From your picture and explanation I suspect the marks are from the careless use of an angle grinder or possibly spits from a welder, both will easily leave 1000s of tiny pieces of grinding dust or weld splatter embedded in glass. Unfortunately both are very hard to remove although a razor blade scra...

Re: steering rack set up
Simplest method I know is position the rack roughly in the centre position, its easiest if the boots are not fitted because you can see that the rack is roughly centered, but if they are then push it all the way away from you (from under the arch) take a measurement the pull it all the way towards y...

Re: Spark Plugs
I gave up using champion plugs many years ago as I kept getting poor results from them, I found they suffered from premature failure and often poor performance generally, where as NGK are generally fit and forget, I don't often use bosch plugs but have nothing against them, however Denso have given ...

Here you go,
https://wellerwheels.com/products/austin-a40-a35
13" same as on the blue pickup with 14 holes in same as the blue pickup, and on a 4" stud pattern, it appears they have just had the 3 buttons added to each wheel for the hub caps.

Re: Fitting failure of water temp sensor adaptor - what went wrong?
often you will find that adaptors are machined with an undercut just under the head, often this will be down to the core size of the thread and looking at your picture the diameter where the PTFE tape is does look reduced. If this is the case then this is a weak point on the adaptor as you have unfo...

Re: wheel identity
Sorry but I don't know what the wheels are from but expanding the rear wheel picture it shows as a 175 - 13" and looking at the dish on it I would think possibly the rims been widened to suit, or had the rims reversed. Regards stud patten, as we know Marina hubs came in 3 3/4" pcd and 4 1/...

Re: Carpet supplier
For carpet off the roll you could talk to William Marston (Birmingham) or boyriven.
Or Google vehiicle upholstery suppliers.
But do remember that most suppliers will sell from cheap to expensive carpets and with upholstery and carpet you really do get what you pay for.

Why not get your original tank welded?
Not a joke tanks can be welded safely, (IF YOU KNOW WAT YOUR DOING)
I don’t suggest you hit it with a mig welder unless it’s been emptied and de-fumed,
But I have welded several tanks over the years without any problems,
Just a thought

Hi Fit the kick panel without the door edging / draught excluder fitted and the flap just loose, Once the panel is located and fitted correctly flap the flap around the door post edge and Mark it top and bottom a little short so you won't see the flap once the door edging is fitted, Mark a straight ...

Re: ESM Hubs
In the good old days....... We would pitch 4 new stud holes in our original marina hubs to convert them from 3 3/4" pcd to 4" pcd or 4 1/4" pcd so if the esm hubs are cast exactly the same as the OE marina hubs it should be possible, All you need are marina appropriate studs (have a l...
