Re: Windscreen Sealing

A PU (polyurethane) adhesive should work ok.
There's lots of different brands available. Normally its supplied in a mastic style tube. So you will need a mastic gun.
Do not use a silicone it won't work.

Re: Gear Lever Gaiter.

Have a look on good old flebay under "universal gear gaiter" there's a huge selection on there. The other option could be look at the gaiter on a modern car to see the base dimension of the leather as you might be able to find something that will work, again flebay has thousands of vehicle...

Hi I remember you posting this last year. I have attached my reply from then below, I don’t know the company in question or their work and will not slag them off, but it does appear to be down to excessively thick paint application or poor preparation generally, although without having the car in fr...

You should only need the one in the bottle although 2 probably won't hurt, First thing would be to check that you have the valves the correct way round, hopefully there's arrows marked on the valves, If theres no arrows marked on the valves after a quick rince in some clean water try blowing and suc...

What about vehicles that live in Cyprus or Saudi Arabia the don't suffer like this, faded paint yes and peeling lacquer yes due to Extreme heat but not what you have, It's easy to criticise another business from one's armchair but from what can be seen in the photo the small spots a...

Re: Ford N9 reversing light switch

I believe westfield the kit car people sell a type 9 plug on a tail of wire, thats assuming you have the two round pin type plug, I think the same connector was used on MK2 escort, capri, cortina, sierra, granada, so might be worth looking on ebay for one being broken, probably to old for ford to ha...

Re: Can You Retrofit a Split Screen?

If you are really want the appearance of a split screen on your car then instead of trying to find a split screen shell to cut up you could create your own, No not as silly as it sounds, it’s just steel so you could make the two halves of the screen surround and weld them in place of the curved surr...

Re: rear dampers (shock absorbers)

With no disrespects meant to your or anybody’s car it will make absolutely no difference other than costing you £50 more, There’s lots of talk of gas dampers being more responsive, better for prolonged driving, performance vehicles and fast driving etc, Whereas oil is generally considered to live lo...

Re: Painting Dashboard

Unfortunately I've been here several times. The fact the existing paint has cracked in places woul indicate it's very thick as you say. The fact it's not hard underneath (rolling into little balls) as you say means your not going to be putting your new paint over a good base. And some paints are jus...

First thing to look at would be earth connections, Not saying that’s the answer to all your problems but poor earth connections will give you lots of interesting electrical gremlins, Make sure all the earths are screwed/bolted to a good ground, it might be worth removing as many earths as you can fi...
