Re: Big bore exhaust
May be of interest if you are fitting a big bore exhaust. IslipMinor was quite right that I may have difficulty in fitting this system! What a pain! First thing to fit was the front downpipe, yes when mated up with the Metro manifold It hit the underside of the passenger floor!,so I cut a “v” in the ...

Big bore exhaust
Having fitted an Ital 1275 motor I now want to upgrade the exhaust system.
I have a Modified Metro manifold (I have cut off the intake part) and bought a ESM big bore exhaust system.
My question is,what fittings starting from the manifold end willI require to fit this exhaust?
Many thanks,
Martin.

Re: 1275 Engine comparisons
Many thanks for all replies. Fitting the Ital engine I had to use a Minor front plate and an ESM modified backplate and flywheel,I used the original Minor 1098 gearbox and fitted a needle roller bearing in the end of the crankshaft. Being a cheapskate I modified the fan blade by cutting it to clear ...

1275 Engine comparisons
Hi,
A couple of questions,
What are the main differences between an Ital 1275 A+ and a 1275 MG Midget engine?
Will a 1275 Midget rear axle assy. fit a Minor 1000?
Many thanks in anticipation.

Larger exhaust
I have a 1275 Ital engine, using a 1098 manifold with the inlet section cut of and replaced with a Minisport alloy item. My question is can I use a bigger bore downpipe and upgrade the rest of the system. Yes a LCB would be far better, but I am looking for an alternative! Thanks for bearing with me! M...

Help everyone! Not long finished fitting a 1275 Morris Ital engine to my Minor. Having trouble getting it running right. Had to change the head for a 12G940 Cooper,as the old head had worn out seats. So far so good.Still not running right. Checked out all the obvious things, and have now decided it’s...

12G940 Cylinder Head
Hi all, Just purchased a reconditioned 12G940 cylinder head, all good so far. I am an elderly, and often quite confused! Looking at the head not only is there no provision for a bypass stub, also the heater outlet where the tap goes is blocked off! I have had good advice how to overcome the missing stu...

No bypass hose
Hi all,
I am looking at a 12G940 cylinder head to fit to my Ital 1275 engine.
The only thing is it has no bypass hose facility.
Is there anyway I can get round this and blank off the waterpump outlet.
Many thanks,
Martin.

Re: Ital to Minor top hose
O.K, Many thanks again for all the suggestions. I looked into all possibilities, and decided to go the MGB route. I hadn’t realised there where two different types till Phill highlited the part numbers. So I bought both parts! The one that fits in the photo is part number 12H797,the other part 12H255...

Re: Fitting an Alternator Video
Has anyone got a wiring diagram for an alternator conversion for a 1098 Minor.
The video is very good, but not quite the same as the Minor wiring.
Many thanks,
Martin.

Re: Fitting an Alternator Video
What would you say would be the best ampere for an alternator fitted to a Morris Ital engine.Looks like origional figment was 34 ampere.
Could I upgrade this for a higher ampere.
