What time are people planning to get there? Judging is at 1pm but that is likely to be of little concern to us :-)

Can you e mail the form ? There isn't an entry form for the rally itself, as it's an informal get-together with a minimum of prizes. There is an info page and Wightlink booking form which I recently got from Alan Peeling, one of the organisers. Rally info Wightlink booking form Some of the SADMOGs ...

So pretty much where they exit on the van and pick-up, albeit on the other side? I guess so. It's a non-issue in a pickup, of course, as the enclosed accommodation doesn't extend into the rear. I guess the fact that it's OK with a van, even though it has rear doors, must indicate that it would be O...

Not a yellowhammer... My barely-educated guess is that it's a juvenile greenfinch starting to get the greeny-yellow adult colour. It looks to me a bit like this: http://www.garden-birds.co.uk/birds/images/greenfinch5.jpg My other clue is that looks like thistle seed in the feeder, and greenfinches l...

Side exit exhausts...

Anybody know if a side-exit exhaust is legal on a Minor? Specifically a 2-door - the pipe would end just in front of the back wheel behind any passenger doors or opening windows, which I thought was the requirement. Although if there's a chance of unburnt oil and /or petrol coming out you probably w...

No, it's definitely a HIF. The page that Kevin linked to seems to help. I think I'll run a breather pipe down toward the floor and see what happens.

Glue will definitely NOT work!! Needs welding. How do you know? Does a manifold get hotter than 1100°C? There are adhesives as tough as welded joints, you just have to structure the joint a bit differently - overlap, perhaps or some reinforcing wrapped round the outside. Unless you're an adhesives ...

Thanks, seems useful.
Also the carb id is normally a little alloy tag with code on it under a screw.
I found that, but the part number corresponds to a HS6 from a 1700 Princess :-)

You can definitely buy 2-into-1 collectors off the shelf from a variety of suppliers. There are some on eBay, and I've found others. For instance: http://www.pipewerx.com/ As for joints: Given my lacking of welding savvy (and of a welder) I've looked into other possibilities. I'm currently waiting t...

The OD of the metal pipe that goes into the float chamber would be around 5mm, which makes me think it could still be that, just with the pipe missing (broken/ fallen off?). There's still the breather that attaches between the butterfly and the piston - Do you mean that there's another from the flo...

I need to shorten the handbrake by about an inch so I need to move the button back down the lever. Any idea how to get it out?

A 5mm hole into the float chamber is a breather? It sounds downright dangerous to me.

It's obvious where the engine breather and fuel inlet go, but this is extra, and there's no means of attaching a pipe.

Manifold gasket, "1300" oil filter, set of manifold studs, 82° thermostat and gasket, large bore exhaust mounting straps x3.

I think that's it. Ordering or visiting?
