Hi I did this swap over 20 years ago on my engine although ital.I did have problems getting rings,i think the Mg used powermax pistons they were very thin rings,really good camshaft and had bigger valves,I used everything off the mg i could unbolt but not the dizzy they say you have to have a matchi...

Legs where in good condition renewed engine bay lower and one wheel arch,used the holes in the legs to position new panels,I have now reamed the holes larger allowing the towers to move forward relay shaft looks a loot better,I still think the thinner back plate would allow it to go forward a bit mo...

I had new towers had L marked on the left one,if you swap them over the 3/8 nut at the back holding the rubber mount on is then in the front facing you.The only way i can get the relay to line up,all mountings loose,push engine forward but engine mount towers are to far forward for the chassis hole,...

Hi All.,engine and gearbox sitting in nicely,previously I had 950 engine and box in would the thicker 1098 back plate make a difference to the position of the clutch relay,it looks like the whole unit wants going forward,new front mounts and lh and rh towers fitted any help appreciated...Glyn,gettin...

Hi all I'm fitting a HIF44 Carb onto my engine via Mg metro intake manifold,does anyone know where I can get a longer choke cable,at the moment I have a new original 32" outer sleeve length had it from ESM very grateful for help..Glyn

my only other option is to have inserts fitted,i'll see what the new standard valves are like in the head before I make a choice...they are the same length,thanks for you opinion Phil..

Thanks Phil,the valves have been recut and look like they are sitting a bit low in the head,the seats in the head have been cut as well.i've ordered 4 new inlet valves from Moss but I sat an 1.5/16 valve in the head and it looks in a better position...I'll take better photos...

I need to change my headlining on my project 58 car,I've managed to save the front board,released the 2 clips through the sun visor holes which are handy to push a small T bar allen key enough to get the board out.The boards are over £50 so a good saving

i've got a sliding portable gantry which I made,no lifting in this warm weather i'm in my portable garage I got a Clarke one its brilliant,i'll takke a photo off the gantry tomorrow...stay safe

job done 3 thou now i've got 3 new sprockets not one of them were the same..thanks again,sump is now on need to torque cam nut,any one know the torque please,books have not got a lot of info thanks
