Re: 803 cc from an Austin A30?
Sorry, bmcecosse , my mistake! I misread your comment and thought that the distributor was different... I spoke on the phone with a bloke that has a spare engine and gearbox (he has a whole "spare" care, to be honest!) but haven't actually visited him. I'll let you know more as things deve...

Re: 803 cc from an Austin A30?
So what you guys are saying is keep the engine and replace the carburettor, distributor and inlet manifold for the "correct" ones (original Minor items)?

Re: 803 cc from an Austin A30?
Hi guys, Here I am again with my transplant intentions still not very clear! I've done some research and found out that although the engine on both the Austin A30 and Series II Minors is the same, their power output is not! The Austin had an honest 28bhp at 4400rpm, providing 40lb ft of torque at 22...

Re: 803 cc from an Austin A30?
Hi guys, First of all, thank you all for your replies! Secondly, let me tell you that my car is stil on its restoration final stages and it was bought as a complete reck! All this to say that I've never driven it... hence I shall not notice the difference in performance! Everything has two sides, ri...

803 cc from an Austin A30?
Hi guys, I have an early Series II ('54) that originaly had the A-series 803cc engine. I write had because it now has a later 948cc unit along with its corresponding gearbox. I know that the earlier 803cc unit as well as its gearbox is subject to a lot of criticism but i would like to keep the car a...

Re: Tool kit
Have you got a copy of "Original Morris Minor"? If so then go to P. 35 I do and I did! They in fact seem painted black. However, the tools themselves are inside the tool bag not allowing a very clear view... Anyway, if someone has an original tool kit and bag and if they could be so kind ...

Tool kit
Hi guys,
I have a doubt regarding the original tool kit. Were the tools themselves painted (black) or plated (chrome, nickel,...)? And what about the tool bag. Does someone indicate where a reproduction can be obtained?
Can someone post a few detailed pics of the tools?
Thanks,
Pedro

Windscreen wahser
Hi guys, To be precise (and honest...) I do not have a MM Minor but a pre-October '54 Series II... Anyway, since it shares so many features with MM's I reckon it's OK to post some questions here... hope your don't mind! Here it goes: 1-Windscreen washer. To the best of my knowledge it was an optiona...

Re: 1954 Morris Minor Restoration nearly there now
Hi Josh, I also have a '54 Moggie just about to finish restoring it. I couldn't stop noticing that you have an original round, gold painted heater. I've been fortunate enough to find one but how on earth should I fit it? It seems to be held in place by two screws located on the front plate that, in ...

Heater fitting
Hi guys, Haven't posted on the forum for a while as the Minor's restoration has been on hold... I'm managed to find a heater (the round, gold, early one) but how on earth do I fit it? As far as I could understand it's held by two screws on the front panel to the underside of the dash and sit on the ...

Round Heater
Hi,
I'm just finishing the restoration of my '54 Minor and recently bought an original heater, the round gold-painted Smiths. However, i'm having a bit of a trouble fitting it. Can someone please share some info and some pics on how it is secured to the car?
Many thanks,
Pedro
