Re: Yet another indicator problem

Yeah, I did do that whilst it was off, as it happens - it just made sense to do it. I've just found out how expensive the replacement would be! Shocked! I think I'll re-clean it, and apply some lubricant a lot more carefully. It's seems to require pushing down really hard to get the R/H indicator go...

Re: Yet another indicator problem

Thanks. In my case, although I could touch the connectors with my finger tips, to actually reattach the wire into the bullet connector, I had to dismantle as described. I've now discovered that the stalk is unreliable, so I'll be going through it all again to replace it! Thanks again everyone for yo...

Re: Yet another indicator problem

I have a 69 convertible and I recently replaced the indicator stalk assembly. The connections (bullet connectors) that may be relevant in your caseare on the driver’s side under the glovebox. Unfortunately only accessible by removing that glovebox. To get there, remove horn push, steering wheel, in...

Re: Yet another indicator problem

>> As both front and rear lamps (37/38) don't work, it logically is the common bit of cable between selector switch and the Front/Rear split. >> >> Where that is on your car, I couldn't tell you, as my car is a whole lot older.... Yes, that was my thinking, but I'm not sure where that is. I've seen ...

Yet another indicator problem

Hi folks, I've got a late '69 Tourer, and the left hand indicators have just stopped working. I've got to leave early for a local classic car run tomorrow, and it's still persisting down so I haven't had much of a chance to look into this, so I'm hoping for some suggestions which might short-cut the...

Re: Breaking two Morris travellers

Do you have the wooden load-bay floors, and what rear doors lock parts do you have, please? In usable condition, of course...

Oh, and an interior light wouldn't go amiss either!

Cheers, Laurie.

Re: Latest Convertible?

I entirely agree, and you're right to warn as you did, as these scumbags are all over the place. However, in this case, I, personally, can't see what use such information is to a scammer, so I'm ok with it.

Cheers, Laurie.

Re: Latest Convertible?

Yes, but one doesn't need specifics. It's easy to find a kosher number plate, plus lots of other numbers and cobble something together. I don't think it matters if they are real or not.

Cheers, Laurie.

Pardon my ignorance but what use are those numbers to someone else?

Re: Latest Convertible?

Yes, clearly. And about that many days, I suppose. Sadly, I'm not sure where this data would be recorded. A visit to Gaydon would be required, I suppose. There's only 2 weeks between mine and the last one, but who knows how many were made? Given that few people seem to know that as well as a chassis...

Re: Latest Convertible?

That’s brilliant info. Thank you! So the first number is a body code. Second number starting T is the car’s unique body number. According to heritage certificate mine is 72055 but on car it is 7205. In other words the heritage certificate has an extra digit. So Brownowl, this does work. Find out yo...

Re: Latest Convertible?

Ok, a break in the rain! Checked the numbers I can see, and the wiper motor is 16 69 which I gather is the second week of April 1969. I've taken some pictures (attached) and have seen that the car number is actually Z32745 and T72111. Apolgies for my earlier nisreading. That 3 really looked like a 5...

Re: Latest Convertible?

Z32743? Z32741/2 were 1963 2dr/4dr, Convertibles WAY behind! No! That number is wrong! I wrote (and it really looks like) Z52746. I have the original service book, and the first page is quite clear about the dates. Definitely June 1969. T 72111 (T reversed punched) Would you please msg me g/box &am...

Re: Latest Convertible?

Thought I would update this just for completeness... As I said, I bought the Minor, and it's a real gem. Full MOT history/certificates since the first one, and pretty well all bills and receipts. Original engine, and all the bad stuff sorted out, with bills to prove it, including a new hood. Only do...

Re: Latest Convertible?

You can also ask Gaydon to do some research for you. The first x hours (can't remember whether it's 1,2 or 3) are free and then there's a very reasonable charge per hour. That facility seems to have gone. What they offer now is a "Web Research Request", which comprises a "simple ques...
