Coincidence . . . I've just been sorting out some car related books to offer on the forum (free - just p&P - hopefully later today) and I found: Radio-controlled Models by F.J.Camm.
I'll add it to the list, in case anyone is interested (?)

Re: Having problems adjusting the brake peddle!
I presume that you are trying to adjust the actuating rod on the master cylinder. The recommended 1 1/4 play is with the floor in place. When the floor/transmission tunnel is removed the pedal is free to rise above it's regular position. Try placing a straight edge over the pedal at floor level and...

Having problems adjusting the brake peddle!
New brake parts all round except the peddle. However, I don't seem to be able achieve the 1 1/4" play at the peddle mentioned in the Haynes manual? I'm just running out of thread and best is 1 1/2" of play . . .
Any ideas?

Re: Oil Pressure Switch
My switch is totally different - see photo (not mine but similar!) The threaded section extends to the body . . . And, it screws-in leaving the washer 'just' loose.

Re: Oil Pressure Switch
I have just checked several oil pressure switches in a 948cc block. They all go in just sufficient to cover half the threads of the oil pressure switch. That equates to about 8mm. Because of the taper thread the more you screw the oil pressure switch in the tighter it becomes and that is how the th...

Re: Oil Pressure Switch
The oil pressure switch has a taper male thread and will not go fully into the block. The threads in the block are 1/8" National Pipe Thread(NPT) and are parallel. The taper oil switch threads will never go fully home into the block. Yes, I realise both your points, however, the OD of the thre...

Oil Pressure Switch
I'm doing a comprehensive refurb on my 'Ruby' Traveller - But more of that in another thread . . . I recently pulled the oil pressure switch ready to fit a replacement. The old switch had a tapered thread which didn't go into the block very far. This seems to have left the deeper threads bloc...

Re: power aassistance required
Hi everyone, thank you for your replies. All of your suggestions have been welcomed, but I have already made such checks and all is well. In my original post, I should have mentioned that with the engine off, I can repeatedly press the brake pedal and lose all vacuum (can hear it) but, keeping my f...
