Interesting. My understand was the latest remained positive earth but with an alternator, as per the last LCVs. I could be wrong. And, as you say, the records are lost . My 1284 is still positive earth and a dynamo.

Well, happy ending to report. Never use comparison sites for Classic stuff, but did this morning, and turned up a sub £100 quote. Phone original renewal company, they more than matched it!! Happy bunny.

Annual Insurance Fun.

The Media tells us of big hikes this year, but I didn't expect 50%. So, a quick trawl. One madly higher again, One rang me pressure selling before I'd even finished the online quote! Then was madly higher. One doesn't quote online, despite the word 'Line' in the title. Another very well known is 'co...

LED Indicator help

Morning fellow Moggists. 1971 Traveller. Recently changed to Led side/stop tail and pleased with the results. Went for indicators too but having problems. The FU supplied with kit works intermittently. It is cheap and nasty, and i've tried with a couple i've had for years with no luck. Any suggest a...

Interesting one. Cut my teeth in BMC bodyshops, but a little earlier than me. At first sight, I'd say Riviera Blue. Used on Spridgets but slightly later.

Re: Can You Retrofit a Split Screen?

Yeeees, but definitely no. The surgery required would be humongous, and via the little used provisions of the Construction and use act, you can't actually fit mods that were discarded for a safety element. So spilt screens gave way to a safety Triplex one piece, larger back lights superseded small o...

Re: Cruising Speeds 1098cc Motorways etc

I was 17 and a newly passed test in 1974. Ran a series of half decent banger part ex's supplied by Dad, who ran a BL dealership. He used to bang on 'It's a 50mph motor'. Of course, I thrashed them to within an inch of their lives. Now at 66, driving my lovely Traveller, I smile thinking of him as it...
