Can I get rid of dark patches in Traveller Wood?

My traveller's wood is good, but the treatment I put on 10 years ago was looking a bit tired despite intermittent topping up. (I used Burgess woodstain), Recently I have stripped off the topcoat (while still on the car) and have revealed a bit of decay in the rear pillar. There are darker patches ne...

Re: Horn earth wire.

I got the indicator bulb working by earthing the indicator stalk... but now the horn doesn't work! I think a separate earth from column to body is now required.

Re: Horn earth wire.

OK, I should read the thread before engaging with the post.... I didn't have the contact engaging with the steering column slip ring.... horn now works.
Just the little indicator light problem to solve now, but that might just be the bulb.

Re: Horn earth wire.

I have just replaced the indicator stalk on my 1960 morris because a niece wrenched off the stalk light (Lesson: never let a 4 year old sit in the drivers seat...). The indicators now work fine and I am pretty sure I have the right assembly but the light at the end of the stalk does not and now the ...

Speedo Cable Installation

After giving a reasonable estimate of speed range (it moved a lot), my speedo recently ceased to function, just sticking at one speed. All indications were that it needed a new speedo cable. Straightforward, I thought. I have fitted a new cable. Both ends seem to be located correctly. And now the sp...

Thanks, I will email the North Norfolk branch, of which I am a (not very active- yet) member. Do you think those flowers are an MOT failure?![frame]Image[/frame]

Norfolk MOT

I have just moved to the Norfolk area (about 10 miles north of Norwich) and need to get my Traveller MOT'd. Any suggestions on a garage in the area that might "understand" a morris? [frame]Image[/frame]

Re: Moggies in the Movies...

There is of course the inevitable web-site where you can look up all movies containing Morris's. Some people just want to spoil memories with facts, don't they?

Woolmer Green Village Day

Just wondering if anyone in the Stevenage/Hertfordshire area fancies coming to our Village Day on Sat June 5th? Its a standard fete with barbeque, bar, music, scarecrow competition, cake stall, ponies, coconut shy etc etc. It starts at 12.00 noon outside the Village Hall, and usually the classic car...

It happened to my previous morris when I was a student (and therefore didn't know better). I pulled out of a petrol station and as I went over the kerb the trunnion popped out of the thread and the car was left with the wheel in an odd position and all the weight going through the wing. I thought it...

Not quite sure of the year of Steves car as it is a re-reg but before his ownership and I think its either a 59 or 60 know doubt he will put my awful memory straight. Its 1960, Clipper blue. They wanted a 1958 traveller, but I was the only mug that volunteered! Original number WAM 672 is on a Honda...

Actually, that Hill in Whitby saw off the old gearbox before the filming- the one Richard was driving was a re-conditioned one, and perfectly healthy. I think he should have double-de-clutched and changed down to first before taking on the hill with four Goths on board! He was revving it a lot in lo...

Yes, a piece for Eybolts coming up! They filmed it last Summer, but they wanted to refrain from publicising it at that stage. It was supposed to go out in the Autumn, but kept getting put off. And here's William under wraps.....

OK. I admit it. It's my Traveller he is driving! We took William up to Scarborough and Richard Wilson drove around the North York Moors last Summer. The Morris was originally the fourth programme, but apparently now it is on first. There is also a Camper, a Bentley, a TR3, a ford Zodiac and a...
