Re: Gravity bleeding with servo?
When I had a servo fitted I did use gravity to bleed but it took a while. There are faster more reliable methods and 1 man bleed kits available just keep an eye on the MC to ensure the fluid doesn't run low.

Re: Radio strangeness
If you are sure the connections in your Morris are correct then it would suggest the radio has had it and needs to be repaired or replaced. If you want to keep that style their companies who will refurbish the radio and if you want/need add connections for an Mp3, bluetooth etc..

Ring the AA tell them what the RAC are quoting and chances are they will match it. If not transfer to the RAC as both provide a very similar service

Try your local factors as they will usually match prices if they can. Get one with a 3yr guarantee as they never last that long so you will (hopefully) never need to buy a new one again. Remember where you kept the receipt and remember to register the battery.

Re: Master cylinder top hat seal
Someone more knowledgeable will be along but as I remember the top hat seal maintains some pressure in the system so the brake shoes run close to the drum for a quicker response so removing it will let the shoes retract more which might affect the brake operation - so you might need to remove it twi...

Unfortunately not but tools & spares go in that space and the spare wheel sits on the boot shelf.

Re: Fitting a 9.5 gall tank to a Traveller
I have a 9.5 gallon tank in a saloon and the modifications to the existing space was minimal. It is a useful mod & I can usually go 350milrs+ betweem fuel stops.

Re: engine suddenly runs rough
What about the filter in the bottom of the pump as with shipping etc crud may have got disturbed and collected in the filter? It might also be worth cleaning the carb and if the carb is getting fuel then investigate the points, and condition of the distributor, plug leads etc.. I am also assuming th...

Re: New road wheels from ESM
The Highland Classic Car Club got a deal with "The Wheel Specialist"in Inverness who refurbed 4 alloys for £250. They are on shore street near the railway bridge. They have done quite few of the members wheels and I have only heard good reports plus they can do a number of finishes. Worth ...

Re: Brake servo
A servo isn't totally necessery in a Minor as it only assists with braking. I had one fitted but took it out as it never gave a firm pedal but others use them and they seem quite happy - so it will be personal choice. If you use the servo it has to sit at a slight angle to work and bleed properly an...

Re: Multiple Alternator Failure
I have had similar issues with starters and alternators, try another and see if it happens again. Do the obvious electrical cable checks again making sure connections are secure and clean + the fan belt is adjusted correctly and running freely.

Re: Intermittent Problem on starting
Has this just started to happen? Check leads onto the battery are clean and tight at both ends, same with the starter motor. Although this sounds like the starter solenoid is sticking and not engaging the starter motor. I don't think there is any way of repairing the solenoid but it is easy and quit...

Re: Alternator replacement leading to engine failure?
Check that the oil and water haven't mixed. When you were driving with the ignition light on did you check the fan belt was still driving the water pump? If the water pump wasn't turning then the engine could have overheated leading to cylinder head gasket failure. If the C.Head Gasket is ok check p...

Re: The Devil's in the Dizzy for the Vicar's Moggie
There is a small earthing wire inside the dizzy which can break? Or try a good distributor from another Minor to see if this makes a difference. A few years back there was a bad batch of rotor arms being sold so you might just be unlucky enough to have 2 of these(just a thought).
