Help wanted
I've been perusing a van which is in Derby. Its for sale on FB Marketplace "1971 Morris 6cwt van". I'm in Cornwall, so a long way away. Just wondering if there is anyone up that way who could cast an eye over it for me?

I’m back
Having not been able to do anything Morris Minor related for quite a while now, I’m on the verge of building a decent sized garage at our “new” property. So, will be looking out for a good van from now on.

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
Hmmmm...... As I've currently become obsessed with my boating I'm thinking of selling both the van, as shown in the pics attached to this thread, and Lilly, the pickup shown in my avatar Ideally Lilly should stay in Cornwall which is where she has spent all her life, me being the second owner (bar t...

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
Sorting out the roof was indeed quite challenging, I think it's one of those jobs that you just need to do properly, no skimping. If it's done as shown in my pics, I don't think you can go far wrong. It just takes time, quite a lot of it. What I've found the hardest to deal with during this restorat...

Hi Chris
Not sure what you are alluding to there?
Have you got some bits which I will desire?
Anyway, dropped the cab back on the chassis today:[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
Back working on the van today, it's a long time since last August Anyway, had some fun in the boat after it's complete refit Now, back to the van & I find an article in the latest Minor Commercial magazine which states that some of the Sri Lanken retro van chassis may have an inherent weakness i...

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
The van's been on the back boiler for a few months now.
Was getting my boat ready for the summer & now getting some use out of it, but, the autumn & winter will be here soon.
I'm still on the lookout for any bits which are right for the van - let me know!

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
Almost time to fix the cab & back body onto the chassis for the final time (all being well). Does anyone know if there should be any any gasket material between the chassis & the body parts, other than the cab body-to-back rubber and the rubbers which go between the floor & cab-back side...

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
Ken was certainly a talented tin smith by the look of that van. My van has been "in rebuild" now for 18 years & 4 months. The chap who owned it before me aquired it in October 1996 and began the rebuild with a brand new chassis in 2002. He also carried out the following repairs: New wh...

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
Hi Les The reason I did it like this is that we had to cut out about 25mm all round the bottom of the roof panel as there was corrosion to quite a part of it, then we made and fitted the new section, with the roof as here:[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1422629700_6683 [/frame][frame] htt...
