Good to see the sense of humor is still alive and kicking.
There is a Mark One Jag I frequently see at South Queensferry. It has been painted by hand, with brush and coach paint. The finish is stunning, and rock hard. Painted with 'Tornol' many moons ago, and still looks like new.

Best heaters are the sealed quartz units as used by a lot of bodyshops.

The rattle cans as sold by ESM and the like are actually very good. Spray pattern is close to a spray gun. At about £11 a go they are not cheap though. HVLP spray guns are cheap, and easy to use with a little practice. Be sure to use a suitable mask, and take proper fire precautions. The beauty of c...

Jenolite is a rust covertor/stabilizer only really suitable for areas you can get to. Waxoyl is great for box sections, but their applicator is poor, and you need something like a paraffin gun and compressor to get a good misty coat into the box sections. You only need a thin coating, so don't overd...

Only thing I can think of, is your car Negative Earth? If not, there may be polarity sensitive components in the Hella unit.

Sounds like total pants to me. Those temperatures are nonsense. I think someone thought of Teflon frying pans and made up the numbers with cooking in mind.

I would recommend a better brake maintenance program. Brakes are the most important feature on a car and should not be neglected, and definitely not used when known to be poor for half a year!

Maplin do an alarm called SHARK for £29 and it's very good. Even flashes the indicators and cuts the ignition. You may need a slightly higher wattage interior light bulb, as it works on current drain to trigger the alarms. It also has a shock sensor, which you can enable/disable using the keyfob rem...

If the car was run with alternator disconnected, the alternator will definitely be goosed. Off load an alternator produces over 400 Volts into the regulator inside the alternator. Diodes will be fried.

The old type regulators aren't exactly accurate, so one option worth looking at, is changing to an alternator. A new regulator may help things, but I have seen new ones that are a mile out of adjustment and need setting up. WRT engine temperature, 70c is about right even with a 88 thermostat. Jonath...

More hassle than it's worth IMHO. You would need to make the belt area free of oil, which means moding the block. Easiest way to stop rattle, is fit a duplex chain and solid crank pulley from ESM.

The A Series engine is grossly over cooled anyway, so double core rad a waste of money, and likely to reduce fuel economy if engine cooled even more. Should be fine in Malta, just fit the lowest temperature thermostat.
