Re: Hardi fuel pump spares

Many thanks for that info Declan, I shall send an enquiry.

As far as the SU points idea, definitely worth a look. I've got some old point somewhere so will pull the cap and see. They did look very similar during a very brief inspection!

Hardi fuel pump spares

As the title suggests, I currently have a Hardi pump on my Minor. It has been faultless for 15 years, though the points are now nearly worn down to nothing. Does anyone know if the points are replacable, and if so, where I might get some new ones from? For info, I'm currently in the middle of rebuil...

Change profile email address

Not a problem as such, but I can't see where to do it!

Can someone tell me how to change the email address my profile is linked to? The address changed long ago!

Many thanks.

Re: advice on which car radio aerial to buy.

I bought an amplified aerial, fitted it underneath the dash and connected the power to the electric aerial output on my stereo so it only powers up when the radio is on. Works a treat!

Re: Kingpins and trunnions

Seems BM have got some more stock of the n/s bottom trunnions in, thank goodness.

Is there another shortage on the horizon? :-?

Re: Kingpins and trunnions

BM waiting on n/s lower trunnions. Interestingly, DSN can offer the kingpins, but list the l/h one as having a right hand thread so requiring a r/h thread hub nut :-? http://www.dsnclassics.co.uk/acatalog/DSN_Classics_Front_Suspension___Steering_13.html off side is left hand Beg to differ old bean :D

Re: Kingpins and trunnions

Thanks all. Was hoping to bag aupickup's kingpin if they were interchangable - its my o/s thats more in need of replacement. ESM are currently showing out of stock for MOWOG items and the l/h reproduction, so no joy there. Haven't tried the Morris Minor Birmingham centre yet, the website invites you...

Re: Kingpins and trunnions

Thanks for the info.

I have read that the kingpins can be used on either side if you change the steering rod - is this correct?

Kingpins and trunnions

Evening all, I'm after a full set of kingpins and trunnions for my 1966 Minor, both sides. I have some MOWOG reproductions on order from BM but they're currently waiting on one of the parts. I would prefer MOWOG items - does anyone have any ideas on where I could try to find some? Have tried a few p...

Re: Storing a Morris Outside

If it were my car I'd invest in a gazebo. Even a cheap £15 thing would keep the worst of the weather off it, while a larger folding one (more expensive but sturdier) would be even better. My Minor lived outside for a while until the garage was sorted out and my paintwork definitely suffered though i...

Thanks Jonathon. I think thats what I'll do. I 'll get a new swivel pin plus top and bottom trunnions fitted over winter, I don't drive it when the roads are salted anyway!

Thanks for that. You've hit the nail on the head - I'm not happy to fit the part. I'll contact the supplier and see what they say.

Thanks again.

There is movement on the new trunnion, but only a tiny amount.

What is confusing me is that the new one has a tiny bit of movement on the threads, while the old trunnion had less, barely perceptible.

Thanks folks. The trunnion arrived today and I got some new hardened bolts. Ready to go right? Wrong. The new trunnion is more loose on the swivel pin than the old one was. The old one just about unscrewed by hand (I did take the pin out first) whereas the new one will fly up the threads with barely...

Both really I think. In the picture below, the bolts circled in red hold the backplate/disc cover to the suspension leg. The two holes circled in blue are the bolt holes for the caliper, which fixes to the backplate/disc cover. The caliper is secured out of the way with a cable tie at present. http:...

Quick question - by the way I have Marina discs on the car!

I need to replace the 4 bolts that hold the disc backplate/cover to the suspension leg. Are these bolts toughened/hardened or will normal decent quality bolts do?
