All great ideas, my wife found one in the fluff from the tumble dryer, but still one missing. I will ask her to keep searching which is not so easy when it is my car and I am in Hong Kong. Thanks Rob SADMOG'ers a call for help...... don't know if any of you remember Darren, lives in locksheath area has a very nice mm sidevalve that he sort of inherited. Colin and I went to see it ages ago and diagnosed ignition coil dead and recomended he invest in new leads and cap etc. had not heard...

hummm thanks for offer matt/dan but really need the toughened ones as she is a 1275 so puts more stress through the back question if you break a half shaft do you get any noise? because it failed totally silently, pulling away down hill, and is whisper silent when i put her in gear and let the prop...

These compressions are desperately low - but are you doing the test correctly? You need fully charged (good) battery and hot engine - all spark plugs out, and throttle wedged open slightly. then crank the engine over until a steady reading appears on the gauge.
