Crankshaft pulley without timing marks.
On our 1971 Traveller the crankshaft pulley is without any form of static timing marks, which is interesting when trying to use a timing light on it! Is this a common issue or peculiar to our engine? To avoid this issue in the future would swapping to a pulley from another A series engine resolve th...

Re: Bonnet Release Anti -Rattle Spring
Issue new resolved. Understood rear tear drop is held in place by spring levering the teardrop in place on the rod. Nice simple solution. Dismantling the split pin holding the rod in place, the washer underneath it was actually the original teardrop!!! So new washer and split pin installed and L now ...

Re: Bonnet Release Anti -Rattle Spring
I mistyped, the part number was 38.
The car could well have been a Friday type as was one of the last Travellers assembled in Adderley Park, no evidence but serial number suggests this and being registered 1971.
Now having the part from CW, how is the teardrop fixed to the rod?
Thanks

Bonnet Release Anti -Rattle Spring
The upper attachment piece on the bonnet release rod is missing on our Traveller. Are these a separate piece available as a spare or is their an aftermarket "alternative" item that could be used?

Re: Driver door opens unexpectedly!
New striker plate purchased, fitted to drivers side and still movement in door. Adjusted max ie into the car and still 5mm of play in the door, but door does hold onto outer part of the latch. Gaskets inserted, 3mm thick, and still play. Inspecting the "plunger?" it has 3/4mm of movement b...

Re: Driver door opens unexpectedly!
Inspecting there striker plate, when I removed it a small spring fell out. I see their are 2 small crosshead screws that hold a plate on and this exposes what appears too be a small moveable angled "catch" in the plate. The spring is compressed and looks past it's prime so : - 1. Can I use...

Driver door opens unexpectedly!
Enjoying the afternoon sun, we were out in our 1971 Traveller when the drivers door opened, which is disconcerting at 40mph! If the door is firmly shut OK but concerned this may happen again. Door handle does open when closed, approx 1" before operating the lock to open the door? Any ideas on w...

Bonnet cross member twisted?
The internal cross member, where the top fixing of the support hinge attaches, is twisted/ misshaped. Is this a common issue or has a heavy handed clot been over enthusiastic closing it? I tried straightening the cross member, but it returns to it's distorted shape when opened after being straighten...

Traveller Pull Handle/rubber/glass fixings
The pull handle, chrome metal item for opening and closing side windows, came off and I am left with the handle with the rubber seal in it and the window in place on the traveller. Is the pull handle/rubber item just glued back on to the glass? If so which adhesive would be best? If not what else ne...

Traveller Rear Door Hinge
I am fitting new refurbishment parts, as supplied by ESM, to the rear hinges of our traveller. Is their any particular tightness or torque setting for these or just tighten them until the spring disappears into the bottom of the lowest hinge?
