Which hoses to buy?
Hi all. Apologies if this is in the wrong section & I did have a search first but couldn't really find anything to answer the question. Are there any coolant hoses available for the minor that aren't rubbish & where can I buy them? In the 4 years I've had my Morris I've already replaced the ...

Seat cover help.
I've just rebuilt my drivers seat with new straps & foam which went ok, even getting the new straps on wasn't too bad. But that stupid rubber strip which pushes into the groove underneath to hold the base cover in place is infuriating! I get part of it in & the start pops out, the corners wo...

Peter James were a lot more competitive for me than footman james, and in all my dealings with them so far have been excellent.

Thanks guys.
poly bushes ordered from esm, I'll hopefully get them fitted later this week & we'll see if that cures the knock.

Knocking noise & bushes
Hi all. My 1966 saloon has had a light knock from the front passenger side suspension for a while when going over bumps, just recently you can also hear a slight knock when turning the steering wheel side to side. I investigated yesterday, couldn't detect any play in the trunnions, the only thing I ...

Re: What thread is this?
Just tried & a 5/16 unf nut screws smoothly down the threads with no waggle so that must be it.
Thanks for your replies.

Re: What thread is this?
Re-checking in daylight I think it could be 24tpi which I believe would make it 5/16 unf.

What thread is this?
Hi.
Does anyone know what the thread is where the vacuum pipe screws onto the distributor vacuum unit?
It appears to measure 5/16 x 25tpi, is that a standard thread type or something unique to Lucas?
Thanks.

Re: plug leads
Thankyou. I actually have a 1966 car (my previous was 1967 & it didn't seem worth changing my username). Mine does have the top entry distributor but it's seen better days so I've bought a nos earlier 25d4 but it has side entry leads & a screw on vacuum pipe where mine has the rubber pipe.

plug leads
Hi.
Does the side entry plug cap for the 25D4 distributor use push in or screw in leads?
If push in, is it best to use copper core ht lead & make your own and should the plug caps be suppressed/resistor or not?
Thanks.

Eek, there's some metal missing from there. The fact it's a million makes it well worth doing though.

Distributor query.
Hi. Does anyone supply new or reconditioned 25D distributors that are as good as originals? Or anyone that fully reconditions originals? I've toyed with the idea of an accuspark electronic distributor but I quite like the idea of keeping points & condenser etc, just for the simplicity & poss...

wiper blades
Hi all.
Can anyone recommend decent quality wiper blades to fit my 1966 saloon that work & don't split & fall apart in a few months?
I've seen Lucas ones on ebay for around £15 & Tex ones for £25, what are people using?
Thanks.
Neil.

Re: windscreen fitting
I found fitting the windscreen (and even the rear window) pretty easy, but fitting the chrome trim to the front a total nightmare. I got a friend round in the end who'd done it before and between us after heating the trim up in warm water, with the special tool, a lot of cursing and sore fingers we ...
