Sorry they are for overhead valve not side valve engine, actually a bolt.

Thread size is 8 x 1.0 metric so yes could find bolts have them flattened and made thinner, but what hardening (hardened and tempered or case hardened)

Hi all Does any one know if new tappet screws/bolts can be bought new . The reason i ask is i was doing the tappet gaps after a de-coke as well as grinding the valves and seats, i was having difficulty getting a gap even though i could move the follower up and down, so took out the valve and spring ...

Used stud extractor set that you use with a socket and it snapped the exhaust stud and as you say studs are ruined but have new set. Hi all HELP!!!! Does anyone have a surefire way to remove seized studs from the block .I am fed up snapping studs in the block and having to drill and try to remove studs or heli-coil some studs in my block. Hi Alan At the moment my car has no water pump but i acquired a NOS original heater kit many moons ago and also a water pump.Both will be fitted one day.I hope to start the restoration this year i promise :oops: :oops: As to the water jacket mine seems to sweat water all over when left for some time...

Reguarding bolts in water jacket, in the workshop manual it shows a washer under the bolt head and then a washer between jacket and block the washer under the bolt heads seems to be a copper one and no evidence off the other washer although there was some blue sealer there , , does it need a washer ...
