no just 1 carb, wondering if the valves on 2 and 3 may have got some bits in them whilst they were open as it was stored and not run for a year?

too late £25 seemed like a reasonable investment for a compression tester will check tomorrow, what should I be looking for in bar or psi?

So heres where we are.... started horrace after a year off the road. Drove to his new home 1 mile away, it sounded like ut was firing on 3, so not a great start! I had decided to upgrade to electronic accuspark so I got new dizzy, new coil (!) 4 super whizzo spark plugs with 3 prongs on the electrod...

I put what I belived to be mg midget seats in my pick up, I had to fabricate bases which was pretty simple and newton does covers for these...

you are probably right secret switch would work but then is there not a wire trail (which you could bypass) from wherever you fit it?

Not sure of the intricacies but unless you have the special keyfob with you it you disables the dizzy same as removing the main feed I assume?

I have seen a company offering electronic ignition conversion kits with an immobiliser attached to it, not sure of the cost but seems like a good idea to me anyone got one or had any experience of them?

father in law fixed the pump so i guess he may have set the points wrong, do you adjust them by bending the brass tabs? and what do you set them to? I guess the points could be too close together that would make it go all the time wouldnt it? If i take my finger off fuel pumps ok plenty of petrol......

so.... the fuel pump packed up whilst I was out mooching around town. I replaced it with my spare pump which has a new diaphragm and points. FIrstly this wouldnt work at all... I have 3 gearboxes in boxes of bits after the last gearbox rebuilder took months to do nothing.
I would like to get one good box out of what i have (hopefully), can anyone suggest a decent rebuilder of gear boxes please?
I am in east sussex but can post if need be.

i gave him a box of bits and asked him to make a good box out of it, he did say that 4th was not from the same box so that kind of figures. he didnt replace the bearings as they were ok

Its most noticeable at 40-50mph and pretty much disappears at 60. Not really audible in other gears but this could be due to engine noise.doesnt do it on over run

ok so we are convinced its the gearbox, not diff or anything else then? i "like" your theory on run in gears, sounds like a good answer. He always rebuilds with oldstuff as he reckons the new made gears are cack. The Gearbox dude suggested i run it on a 70/80 gauge gearbox oil not the norm...
