Hello all, bought the parts - 4 bolts for fixing the front shock absorber to the body and 2 locking tab washers on saturday but haven't arrived yet. I see this has been quite a hot topic in regards of the safety and knowledge of young inexperienced drivers like myself, however I bought myself a Morr...

Horrible noise from wheel

About a week ago i noticed the front left wheel made a terrible noise when going over bumps and small holes in the road. This sound has gradually got worse through the week and on closer inspection a few bolts have come off a plate which seems to be connected to the wheel, I just need to know what t...

Leaking water

Hello there everyone, whilst driving the moggie earlier this week I ran into a small problem. My girlfriend noticed a hissing noise when i pulled up onto the drive, like a kettle boiling. On closer inspection what looked like steam and water was coming out of the engine (by the back of the cylinder ...

I LOVE the pink piping on the seats, adds a fantastic subtle difference to the car. Did you do it yourself?

I bought the car to tinker with and restore - that's half the fun of having a classic car!

So I think hacking the roof off is a jolly good idea, keeps me busy in my gap year between sixth form and uni.

Anyone else's thoughts?
I have never seen a convertible  , so I guess thats my next task.

Convertible rear window

I know this may sound a very strange question but does anyone have a picture of the outside and inside of a convetible rear window. I have never seen a convertible but I have seen pictures and if im right the rear window is plastic (can this be glass?), but I like the idea of converting a saloon int...

Advance and retard vacuum?

Hello, I have taken my moggie to the garage because the engine 'cuts out' while driving, mostly randomly. I have rang them and they say i need an advance and retard vacuum? It changes the timing of the engine, or something similar. They claim to know how to fit it but i don't have a bloomin clue wha...

Halifax to Whitby - hopefully

Unfortunately my moggie has been misbehaving for far too long now. The engine seems to just cut out, generally when in one gear for too long however it does also happen randomly. It has been to the garage 3 times now, new distributor cap, spark plugs, points, air filter, oil, but it just keeps happe...

Hello all,

I was just wondering how many types of wing mirrors are out there and which ones in your opinion are the best to buy.

Cheers,

Squeaky squeaky brakes

Hello,

I recently fitted new brake shoes and cylinders, all has been going well for about a week but now they just squeak very loudly.
It's a high pitched noise that really irritates me, and i suppose passers by.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rhys.

Starting problems

Been having a problem for a while now, my car seems to cut out intermitantly so i decided to change the points and spark plugs, and now it won't start. I've checked the points gap, and made sure i'm getting spark at the plugs, but it still won't start. Anyone have any ideas what my problem may be? P...

Brake cylinder issue

Unfortunately my brakes stopped working all together a few days ago, on removing the front brake drum it was full of brake fluid.

I have removed the faulty/leaking brake cylinder however I am unsure how to remove the piston and fit new seals.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Thanks,
Rhys.

Well i turn the key and it makes a farting noise, the engine does not respond at all. I try give it a few revs but nothing happens.

I'm gonna buy a new battery tomorrow and see if this sorts it out.

Does it have to be a specific battery?

Cheers,
Rhys.

My moggies misbehaving!

My moggies misbehaving! When doing high revs in first or second gear the engine seems to almost cut out completely, especially up steep hills. When driving back from Burnley last night i had to bump start the car, it worked fine for around 5-10 miles until trying to get up a hill it cut out in secon...
