Custom 1300 2 door value?

Hey all, due to a house move and a serious change of circumstances I am unable to keep my moggy. I'd like to know your views on how much I can realistically expect to get for it. I plan to sell it with 12 months MOT. The chassis is in good condition and bodywork as well, it is a 1300 ital engine... ...

Hey, only just read this thread, seems like a great idea. I work in the estates department of the Royal Marines Museum but I think the Royal Armouries would be more interesting for the majority to wander around. Also, just to throw another idea in, I am very good friends with the guy at the top of t...

lol, cheers Rod. It came after a friend of callums commented on how often I left the indicators on! (No idea why, no car I've owned previously had self-cancelling indicators and neither do the motorbikes but for some reason I am always leaving them on.)

I think I might try and find myself a scrapper as per rod's advice. Would rather balls up something less important first. I have experience of bespoke roll cages for Landies and mini's but not of minors. I'll do a lot more thinking first.

sorry, consider me sufficiently corrected! :( hehe

Although that wasn't what I meant! just that I really like the look of half sized suicide doors on back and open space right through (ie no supporting pillars)

I'm definitely after more of a look like the rx8. The four door won't do (also haven't got a four door, I have a two door! :P hehe) and not the look i'm after.

Thanks for the heads up BMC, although I am acutely aware of electrolytic corrosion. The Defender in my signature had lots of it! I'll be separating the aluminium and steel very definitively.

I'm thinking about small suicide door replacements. The monocoque chassis is what I'm concerned about. If I reinforce the area around the bit removed would this be enough? (ie reinforcing along the bottom of this section similar to the section under the doors there.) I want to get rid of the column ...

structural importance

How important is the highlighted section to structural strength? What would I need to worry about/reinforce if I were to remove this section and the pillar on both sides?

I have finally decided upon a new colour for the minor (indy). It will be done after a few other ideas I have. Will there be any problems with finish between aluminium and steel? It is a metallic red. Anyone have any experience of a complete respray done by themselves?

Since owning ours we have always had good remarks, not one single bad occurence while driving. Get let out more, tonnes of people comment (customised from rod) get everyone from 'boiracers' to those that would have been the right age to buy one from new. Went out tonight and had a thumbs up from an ...

I am in the process of repainting the rad and replacing it. The leccy fan is shagged so will need a replacement. I have had some help from an old guy at work who has worked on classics all his life in knocking out the front end. Going to check the squareness of the chassis this weekend (weather perm...

Tachometer and rev limit (1275 Ital)

Just wondering if anyone knows the rev limit of the 1275 Ital engine? Also does anyone know where the best place to get a tachometer for this engine from? (preferably second hand/original stock)

Thank you
