The rest of the car is in a similar state and I have almost stripped her down to the last nut and bolt. The B pillar is made of two parts, the front which has the locking tabs mounted to it and which has the molded shape to it and the back which is simply a flat piece of steel. If I could get my han...

I took about four shots of the plate and this is the best of the lot, if you can't read it you will have to refer back to my first post.
Thanks again
Image
This didn't look to bad until I removed the bondo, chicken wire and fiberglass that was holding it together. If I can't find a replacement I will have to fab a new one up....a task that scares me a little bit I must admit.
Image
I was told the car was imported in 1996 however it must have been almost as rusty then as it is now. If it were me, I would have imported something that was a lot more solid.

If the windshield frame is the A post then it would be the B post located at the back of the door. The rust is not just relegated to the lower section where a patch panel could be utilized, it has spread north all the way past the door striker plate.

New door jambs?

Does anyone have a source for the door jambs on a traveler? The jamb on the left side of my car is totally rotted out and someone has tried to fix it by filling in the rotten areas with chicken wire and bondo with a skim coat of fiberglass. Once these offending materials were removed I found that th...

I should add that I was told that this car was used to chase gulls from a runway so that planes could land. It would be interesting to find out which airport it was used at or if it's even true. I was also told that this car has 29K original miles on it and I am having a very hard time swallowing th...

I was wondering if any of you could help me out with some additional info on my Morris. I have a 1970 Morris Minor Traveler that I bought in the states and it has an aluminum plate on the dashboard that has the following information stamped upon it: BRITISH LEYLAND MOTOR CORPORATION L.C.V. Div. Cont...

Oh, I was just pulling your leg, I'll probably either find an MG motor or leave the stock one in it. The Hemi is only in my dreams. Besides, the guy that sold the car to me swears it only has 28K miles on it. It was apparently driven up and down a runway to scare away gulls so that planes could land...

[That's why the Morris Minor is so very popular. Cheap to buy and run - easy on fuel - and zero depreciation !]

I got the Morris because my wife thinks it's cute and it's always good to have her on my side. :D

Here is the wood, the former owner had already removed it when I got the car. Its shot, I'm suprised this car didn't fall apart while on the road.
Image
I have got some of the car apart now and you can see the rusty bits. The front drivers side fender was removed with a gentle tug.
Image
Yes, it's true, I'm across the pond located just outside of Detroit where I am preparing to sell my house for 1/4 of what I paid for it when our car industry collapses. Can you all do us a small favor over there and buy a Ford? I can forgive you if you avoid GM products. I'll do what I can over here...

Thanks guys, bring on the silly grin! This car is seriosly rotted out, the head lights pretty much fell out f the fender and the bumper fell off too once the grille bolts were loosened. My biggest fear is not knowing where to weld in the new sections. How does one locate the new parts correctly befp...

Wish me luck

My latest winter project pulled up this morning on a trailer, a 1971 Morris Minor Traveler. It needs a lot of work, all the wood is rotted out, the floorboards have been fiberglassed over, probably due to rust and the front fenders are falling off. To make matters worse I paid too much for it. But I...
