Re: Crash repair and advice
Well Maurice has been repaired and John Philips had done a brilliant job. I would highly recommend him. In fact it worked out so well that I was able to use him for my daughter's wedding in Southampton on the 02 July. It was a truly brilliant day and Maurice nearly stole the show (only kidding... al...

Fuel filler pipe rubber seal
Hi folks, Does anyone have any idea how to seal the fuel filler pipe neck seal, against the bodywork on a traveller? Mine seems to be only sealed by the tension of the seal pipe into the rubber filler tube. Unfortunately, this causes the seal to bulge outwards on the outside and causes the steel pip...

Re: Crash repair and advice
I've been in contact with Minor miracles today and spoke to a chap called John Philips who was extremley helpful. :D Long story short, he is very kindly collecting the car next Tuesday (the 29th March) to take it back for an estimate and deliberation with the insurance engineer to agree a price for ...

Re: Crash repair and advice
Thanks for those links Gilesv. I will give them a try tomorrow.
If you look at the 6th photo down, where the rear frame meets the engine bay floor, it is distorted. However, the crossmember which is directly below the fuel pump is intact. What are you thinking?

Re: Crash repair and advice
I'm also with Footman James, so your last post sounds promising Matt. I'll get in touch with them tomorrow and find out where I stand. Your right BMC, there is a lot of distortion, but I'm hoping it doesn't extend too far inwards. Having looked on ebay, the car must be worth around £6000. There was ...

Re: Crash repair and advice
Thanks for the reply Matt . It looks like an interesting batch of panels. I was hoping to go through insurance though if possible. However, if things don't workout with them, it could be a possibility.

Crash repair and advice
Hi folks I seem to have had a bit of a crash in the Moggy. This is very frustrating and disappointing as I have so nearly finished a big refurb. :( Fortunately no one was hurt. I have enclosed a photo for info. I have priced up the bits at ESM which I think comes to about £980. I didn't think there ...

Re: N/S rear hub oil seal
Well the way I look at it and having thought about it, the main function of the seal (in this application anyway) is to keep the oil in and from weeping out onto the backplate and so contaminating the brake shoes. The design of the hub and back plate will tend to keep out most of the dust and the se...

Re: N/S rear hub oil seal
Hey Taupe & BMC, thanks so much for the replies. The seal came out as it was in the photo, so after everyones advice, I will put it back the same way.
Until the next time, which I suspect may be sooner rather than later.

N/S rear hub oil seal
Hello fellow Morris Minor owners, As a new member to the forum, I thought that I would quickly introduce myself as a 47 year old from Southampton, who bought a 1971 registered Bedouin coloured Traveller in Jan 2009. It looked good from the outside, but I very soon found that whoever had it before me...
