Re: Reverse gear (or lack there of)
Why limit yourself to ebay? Just google search "Morris Minor gearstick" and there are plenty for sale from about £15.00 upwards  I don't know what you mean by "decent ones"? There isn't really a lot to go wrong with a gearstick is there? :) I mean they don't have a knob or...

Re: Reverse gear (or lack there of)
Yes. Well the first stick came with the box but I've just replaced it with possibly a midget gearstick but the plate and bottom of the stick are the same.

Reverse gear (or lack there of)
Hi, I put a very used 1098 engine/box in my car in 2018. Did a couple of test drives and it ran fine but found it dificult to change gear (very stiff) and reverse was almost impossible to engage but I put it down to the gearstick retaining plate being damaged. Got a new gearstick and plate recently ...

Re: What is this for...?
I did think that as it didn't used to have a locking cap but as you can just pull it out seems a bit pointless! If someone is happy to steal your fuel they'll be alright pulling a bit of wire out!

What is this for...?
This was always in the fuel filler neck and made it impossible to fill up at a petrol station. I had to put fuel into a jerry can then pour it in. Just pulled it out after a bit of a battle.
What was it for?

Model kits available?
Are there any decent minor model kits available? I can only find photos of a very old Revell traveller kit. I'm surprised there's not more demand for minor saloon kits. I'd expect a crossover of morris minor and model nerds.

Re: Splitscreen Traveller
Got the seats mounted and bought seat belts. Mounted a seat belt but can't orientate the reel and mounts in a way that doesn't twist the belt at some point. Anyone got a photo of their seat belt mounted correctly? Fan belt is squeeling when the lights are on driving at night so ordered a new one to ...

I did consider that so I might wait until I go to an autojumble to compare what I have. It's drivable for now.

Re: Splitscreen Traveller
20230205_111933.jpg I'm using the car this week now that the seats are welded in. Got some seatbelts coming. The plan is to replace the sliding windows with painted panels so it can be used as a van. Need to get a new retaining plate for the gearstick to see if that helps the issue with selecting r...

Re: Trouble selecting reverse
Seems to be a case of the plate not holding thr gearstick in properly so a few hits with a cold chisel to flatten it back down has improved things. It will select reverse but I have to hold the gearstick down firmly. Also the gearknob is loose so i think I'll try and find a decent replacement gearst...

Trouble selecting reverse
<t>Is it unusual to have trouble with reverse gear when 1st/2nd are perfectly fine?<br/> It doesn't feel like the gear stick actually goes into the right place. It goes right accross (towards driver) then starts to go down but feels like it goes more towards the handbrake than the drivers seat (as i...

Re: Under dash switch.... for fuel pump?
That makes sense. I did actually use the switch on one of my old mogs because I was constantly having battery issues when commuting during dark, wet mornings especially in traffic so I used to switch off the speedo light to save a bit of power.
