Re: Seems like something should be fitted !

It's just stiffining to make the panel more rigid. You could put some rubber channel strip on it. or coloured trim:)

Re: Electric Minor at Excel Classic Car show

If you want to bring the pollution down cut back on air travel. If you have had your classic to an airshow look at the fuel dumped on your car at the end. I suppose it helps to stop it rusting !!

Re: Tudor fuel locking cap

Mike is right, I have 2 different tudor locking caps and they have different makes of keys, eg. Silka and CBS but these are only suppliers of keys. Auto jumble may be the best bet if the locksmith can't help, guy with a big bunch of keys and ask to try them.

Re: Rocker cover cap

I used to work for Mirrlees Blackstone Diesels and all our K Major engines and most of the later E Type engines had crankcase extractors fitted. They used to run at 1/2 " water gauge on full load and about 2 " on idle. One reason was to stop oil leaks the other was to discourage crankcase explosions.

Re: The good old 948cc 'A' Series

I'll stick with the MG 1275 plus 270 Kent cam and 38mm rimflow inlet v/vs. 0.030 off head and a janspeed 3 branch into a modified minispares RC40 exhaust system plus HIF SU on water heated inlet. This lets me drive from 25 mph to70 plus in top gear. I gave up smoking starts when I passed 70th birthd...

Re: Differential thrust washers

I have been doing the same with one of my spare diffs and ordered spherical washers from ESM and they do 2 sizes. When measured they are 0.058" or 0.036" . the others were Paxolin and were 0.33". I kept some old ones from spare diffs and they vary enough to juggle the numbers to get a just turnable ...

Re: 1958 948- A 'quick' touch up

Our first Minor was 1958 and after about a year the paint started to micro blister and Morris repainted it free of charge telling us it was something to do with the type of steel and use of the wrong primer.( This was in the days when you believed what the car maker told you!!) :(
