Re: STAYHOME RALLY PLAQUE

Thank you. They are all 1950's cars and the K6 Telephone Kiosk, in the background, is from 1954.
The Traveller's original number was 90 BPH (but was sold off in 1985 - well before my ownership).

Re: STAYHOME RALLY PLAQUE

Mike, thanks for the information - just ordered my one (maybe I should have got 1 per car?).

Re: Signature File Attachments

Hello Mike,
Finally, after about 2.5 hours worth of work over 2 days, I've got my latest signature image into my signature.
It no-longer sits between the "sig" brackets, but within "img" brackets.
The picture was taken on Easter Sunday (yesterday).

George.

Just shows we should ban all forms for air travel and also reduce the pollution that is always blamed on cars.

Re: Spotted today.

Have just spent a week in Milton Keynes area, didn't see any Minors whatsoever (except ours, which we drove 600 miles to get there and 600 miles home). No moggies either on M23, M25, M1, A5..... Do you all hibernate? I was in Brighton, enjoying a Birthday day out and meal - minus any of my Moggies....

Re: Weight of MM Steering Wheels

George, My MG TD steering wheel (17") weighs in at 1.356kg without the boss. The MG TD steering wheel is keyed-not splined. I have made a drawing of the steering wheel hub if you need it. Regards Declan Hello Declan, I'm sorry, I meant "keyed" with 2 key cut-outs. The Series MM only needs the one. ...

Weight of MM Steering Wheels

Does anyone have an early Series MM original "brown boss" wheel, minus horn push, that they could weigh (metric)? I ask as I've just bought a "brown boss" steering wheel, originally off an early MG (?), that is lighter than a "gold boss" one. The MG one looks identical to the MM one but has slightly...

Re: Spotted today.

Spotted yesterday evening - forgot to post yesterday. Series 5 blue van. It was very dark where it was parked and my smartphone flash didn't do too well. Series 5 van in Farnham.jpg By the time we returned to our car, the van had gone. I think the colour was more turquoise, but the image looks green...

Re: Series MM wheels and brake adjuster holes

I know you said it's a 1950, but perhaps it was registered a few days or weeks into the new year. Unless you have a Heritage Certificate with the actual date of dispatch on it. Two of these rim, in the correct colour for my car - Romain Green - have no brake adjuster holes in them. Rims with no adj...

Re: Early Series MM wheel decoration

Thanks for that info. Both my Series MM (low and high-light) were 1950 and 1951 respectively - and both have the 2-piece grille with chromed insert. The 2 low-lights, whose pictures I've seen are 1948 cars - before the start of the Korean War in June 1950. Picture 1 Romaine Green.jpg Picture 2 eBay ...

Series MM wheels and brake adjuster holes

Hello Folks, I have managed to purchase some replacement rims for my low-light, given the sorry state of my current ones. Two of these rim, in the correct colour for my car - Romain Green - have no brake adjuster holes in them. Rims with no adjuster holes.jpg All the other rims, including the ones c...

Early Series MM wheel decoration

There is a Romain Green Low-light for sale on eBay (item https://ebay.us/h3gTrD ). Its wheels have a painted white line, in a circle, just outside of the hub cap. I have seen this on another low-light, same colour. My question is "When did this type of decoration cease?" I ask as I have a Romain Gre...

Side-Valve Engine sump plugs available again

Folks, Moss Europe have the brass Sump Plugs (fit both the engine sump and gearbox drain plug) back in stock. The price has gone up a bit from earlier in the year (about a quid) but, more importantly, they have the copper crush washers in stock too. Certainly the "London" outlet has 80 washers in st...

Re: Alloy Kick panels

Hi, this should be made up of 2 pieces of metal and not the one you have. The parts are (1) sloped kick plate (2) sill/cill finisher. IMG_20191114_172657.jpg The shiny part is the original aluminium kick plate, the black part is the finisher, which would be body coloured. Now for what my passenger s...
