Re: 1956 Morris Minor DeLuxe possibly for sale

It is impossible to give a ball-park figure for the car as so much is unknown about it. Not even if it is a late SII or an early 1000 - it could be either if it is a 1956 car. The crucial thing will be its condition, particularly bodywork, underside and interior - and also how original it is. So, pi...

Re: Glove compartment for series ii

That looks close, if you can get the top RH corner into position. Have you got the four little clips that secure the liners to the dash with self-tappers? My SII (late) also has a small screw through the 'floor' of the liner which is secured to a small bracket underneath by a nut.....its a bit fiddly.

Re: New member

All MMs, whether high or low headlamps, had the sidevalve engine originally. All SII cars had the OHV engine and correspondingly different transmission details. The early SII cars do, however, look like the raised headlamp MMs until you open the bonnet! Having said that, a closer examination reveals...

Re: Door cards

It's worth at least trying to tidy the existing one before buying new and then having one that looks 'different' to the rest. Without seeing yours it is hard to know, but maybe just the card itself needs replacing and the old material can be stretched over it (maybe carefully ironed on the underside...

Re: Front Wings & Sealer

The earliest cars used a plastic wing piping the same as used on the rear wings but that was deleted during Series11 production I think. After that, the front wings were fitted as you suggest and simply bolted on before a sealant being used to fill the gap. Any idea why the front wing piping was di...

Brave man with no heater! I remember driving a SII back in the 80's with no heater - bloody freezing in the depths of winter! :o

Re: ROSPA Road Safety film 1938

Yes, Sooty and Sweep was a fantastic show when they had the original, and best by far, presenter - Harry Corbett OBE. So funny. He was always exasperated, but ultimately resigned to Sooty and Sweep's chaos at the end of each episode......'Bye bye, everyone, bye bye!'

Re: Seat cleaninig

Well, if the seats are leather, try this: https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/product/ ... er-cleaner
Or if they are vinyl: https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/category ... renovation
Woolies also do products to re-colour leather if it has faded and, I think, spray cans to re-colour vinyl....

Re: Electronic ignition

My car was fitted with points and drum brakes back in 1955. It is still starting, running and stopping as it should with them 65 years later, so they can't be that bad! I am with 'liammonty' and 'manyminors' and have noted that there are many posts on here where some poor soul has fitted a seductive...
