Dan I think the manual is saying to drop the prop off completely. Thats the 4 nuts and bolts attaching it to the rear axle then slide the whole prop backwards and it should pop off the splines at the gearbox end.

PS mark where the prop is at the rear end before you split it from the axle.

I remember about 12 years ago having a gold Metro and the brake master cyclinder failed as I arrived at work. I thought no problem as I had a metro I was breaking at home. So during lunch I stripped out the old master cyclinder and drove the 10 miles home pressing a useless brake pedal to show brake...

I know I've got a full exhaust in the garage @ Luton. Pretty sure there's a pair of chrome window frames too. The spare rear bumper I have has a glass valance, not sure how good the chrome is though, I'll have to get down the container Monday when I get back from the National.

Well we'll be in our old eurobox this year too as we don't have a mog on the road at the moment. My plan is to get the traveller mot'ed and taxed, finish the beetle and sell it then get on with my custom monster for next years national :P
