Re: Indicator Stalk Problem

What year is the car? Earlier 948 had a combined indicator / horn (non self cancelling) later a stalk with a light on the end and a cowling around the steering wheel.

Re: Original toolkit.

Thanks, it looks like the later ones were painted red but I don't know about earlier Series III I have all the main bits and will get stripping, de rusting and painting, but I suspect black at this stage. I would love to know how they were originally dispatched from the factory and just higgledy pig...

Original toolkit.

Can anyone please tell me a) what was in the factory supplied toolkit and b) what colour they were on a 1957 4 door. I have seen a jack painted a lurid shade or red. Is that correct? P1130526a.jpeg As far as I can tell, I have a black vinyl case with ties, a stitrrup type pump with wooden handles, s...

Re: My First Morris

Dan, I am 6'5" and rather wider than I was when I bought my 1957 4 door at the age of 17 in 1978. The earlerseats are rather more comfortable than the latter ones and I can drive long distances quite happily with the seat pushed back to its furthest. I have never needed to bodge or fettle it back an...

1957 Steering wheel boss

Not steering.jpg sure if this is the right place .... I am sure that I have read some post somewhere that stated that Olive Oil applied to the crazing on this type of boss - and they all seem to have it, has worked wonders. I believe this is on the basis that this clear resin has essentially shrunk ...

Whereabouts of HCO405

neddy.jpeg Has anyone seen HCO 405 1952 (?) Almond green Series II convertible called Neddy., brown hood Last seen in Herts in 1970 when my father sold it as we were going to live in Germany and the Germans wouldn't let it on the roads over there! Personally I thing they held a grudge about some ar...

Re: Flashicators

I saw this and it made my mind up for me. No external indication of a minor (sorry) modification but a real difference made when driving. It was for this reason that I put the new style indicator assemblies back and front about 25 years ago when I used the car regularly - that and that fact that the...

Uttlesford Branch Meeting 7/3/2017

Fellow lunatics. The sun is shining (Time to decant Morris from wherever it has lain over winter and wash and polish) and I bring several items of good tidings: 1) The next meeting is confirmed at the Bluebell in Hempstead (http://thebluebell1nn.co.uk) as the Railway seems to have shut down for good...

Any idea what size these are for the Morris trafficators? I am assuming 36 mm with 6 mm pointed end caps but do not want to order unless sure.

Re: Wing piping

Nope not sprayed. It was produced about 20 years ago in a limited quantity but the manufacturer has to make at least 5000L of it to make it commercially viable. Spraying at the same time as the car tends to make piping crack and craze although I have heard it suggested that if the car paint colour i...
