Re: Spotted today.

Thanks to David Milns (He of the nice black late S2 convertible) for these snaps of a classic car meet at the Fleur De Lys in Widdington, Essex, attended by 4 UMMOS - William brought his lovely blue Wolseley Landcrab. Fascinating pre war Amilcar there in beautiful condition. Unfortunately not the sa...

Re: Starter motor issue

Very odd, it should be a straight swap. What year is the car ? 1956 ? Should not be an issue. I have a 948 engine with a 1098 box and flywheel. The older starter works fine.

Re: Books with Minors

Indeed, but I paid £2 for mine. Used ABE for years without many issues, but the ex-library book description is simply wrong. There is however (as of yesterday afternoon) another proof copy in the basement of Any Amount of Books in Charing Cross Road WC2.

Re: Books with Minors

That is a bit odd as it has not been published yet. Mine is a proof / review copy (£2.00). Libraries do not tend to sell off stock until 6 months after last borrowing, Price is very high for alleged ex library stock too ! Caveat emptor !

From the Hempstead Classic Car gathering. Good company, all for charity, with excellent Saffron Brewery Beer (from the Bluebell), Saffron Ice Cream, a Hog Roast and of course Minors et al.

Re: Books with Minors

PB, Nope its the book itself but a review copy. I haunt several second hand bookshops where proof and review copies are sold by reviewers, I am sure it is available to pre order on the behemoth Amazon. Ah yes. Out on 18th of October 2018! https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywo...

Re: Spotted today.

PB whilst some parts were common, the chap said he has had to make most body panels himself as the MO did / does not enjoy the popularity or numbers that the minor has. There bits have come from scrap cars when needed, but supplies, never plentiful, are dwindling. That said it was beautiful ! It was...

Uttlesford Branch Rally at Saffron Walden Motor show, well attended with three new recruits to the branch and cars from surrounding branches, Cambridge and North London. 18 Minors in all from 1954 - 1971, including two late Adderley Park travellers. If you are going back to trafficators with nothing else, it would pay, of safety and visibility grounds to instal the LED festoon bulbs which flash within the trafficator arms.No relay or flasher unit needed, simply a bulb swap. http://www.dynamoregulatorconversions.com/festoon-bulbs.php http://yout...
