Re: Seat foam replacement

I renewed the front seats of my panda with a kit from ESM. When I stripped the covers off I found that the original rubber diaphragms were still in place and were in excellent condition so I left them in place. Whether they were made tougher for large bottoms I don't know but they have certainly don...

Re: Late saloon rear lights

Are the new ones made of the same material i.e. Mazak if so given a few years they will start to pit. I don't think the plastic ones are available.

Re: engine starts then stops

Tried all the electrical connections and they seem fine so have bitten the bullet and bought a new pump, an SU with the old style contacts. Will be fitting it tomorrow.

Re: engine starts then stops

Just taken the pipe off from the carb, turned the ignition on, no sound from the pump so looks like a new pump.

Re: engine starts then stops

No theres no misfiring it just increases the revs slightly then cuts out. The fuel pump is 15 years old is this due for a change or do they carry on working for longer than this.

engine starts then stops

Just tried to start the car. It starts and runs for about 30 seconds, the revs increase slightly then it cuts out. Leave it for a few minutes and it does the same thing again. Any one any ideas ?

Re: 'Chrome' windscreen trim installation

Thank you so much for that. After looking at the video I realised what I was doing wrong. I was pulling instead of pushing. Insert now in and looking very smart. Once again my thanks.

Re What am I doing wrong ?

I have been trying to put a new plastic chrome insert in the windscreen of my 1968 minor. I bought the new insert and the vastly overpriced special tool from ESM. I spent the whole of yesterday trying to insert the strip. I managed about 18 inches and have now lost all feeling in the ends of my fing...

Re: Speeding offences just changed

I was caught doing 36mph in a 30mph road whilst driving my 1929 Austin seven. The speedo usually reads between 30 and 40. He must have been hiding because I never saw him. I got a speed awareness course and it caused some amusement when I took it to the course. The very first sevens never had a spee...

Re: Wider car parking spaces

After a lot of correspondence between our club and cirencester council they grudgingly waived the fine but with bad grace and they said if we ever did it again the fine would stand. I have never been back to Cirencester.

Re: MOTOR CAR JOKES - ADD YOURS

A lady is driving her car along the road when it sputters to a halt. She phones the garage and after a few minutes the mechanic has the car running smoothly. What was the trouble the lady asked so that if it happens again I can fix it myself. Oh just sh-t in the carburettor the mechanic says. Oh dea...

Re: My First Morris

The seats can be moved back a bit as there are an extra set of holes where the seats bolt into the floor. They are captive nuts and its a simple job to relocate the bolts. I did it and my wife remarked what a difference an inch made.
