Re: members area

i dont know what i was expecting but its a bit crap really It's not the best is it? However you've got to remember that the website is maintained by voluteers in their spare time, who have other full time occupations & committments. We have booked our ferry crossings and most of our accomodation. We are going on the overnight Kirkwall-Aberdeen boat on the Monday so we have all day to explore. It also means we knock 200 miles off the return and arrive in Aberdeen at 7am. Got the discount on the outward journey from Scrabster but...

Bull Motif are about 30 miles from Swindon, near Evesham.

Charlie Ware is in Brizzle, probabyl further than Evesham, & not as easy to get to-I know, I live about 5 miles from them. The ring road will be wedged on a Sat.

Haven't got a spare I'm afraid, otherwise I would be able to help.

cheers,
Neil

Are the ones you have stripped? If not I would be inclined to reuse them. they are not stripped, but they have had wood screws put in them which has damaged the threads. 2BA machine screws will go in but they get very stiff which tends to damage the heads. do you know if the screws are cut short to...

traveller rear seat hinge

Can anyone suggest where I can get hold of the captive nuts that the hinge for the rear seat back on a traveller screws into? They are 2BA captive and are recessed into the underside of the floorboard, held in by nails. They need to be flush with the underside of the floorboard as otherwise the bott...

I believe Brighton Council were making unreasonable demands for security. That's why it didn't happen.

Minors have a reputation for attracting a rough crowd.....

Thanks Alex, however there are slight differences between yours and mine-yours doesn't have the grey vinyl on the back of the seat for instance, also only 2 aluminium bars on the floor.

I'm rebuilding the loading bay of my 69 traveller, including the grey vinyl covering for the first time since we had the car. I've looked in Ray Newell's Original Morris Minor & in Morris Minor-the world's Supreme Small Car by Paul Skilleter & neither have a good clear photograph showing the rear lo...

UPDATED 26/4!!! SUCCESS!!! :-) :-)) After 20 min banging away with a hammer and chisel this afternoon (sorry nextdoor & anyone else within 200m trying to listen to Man U-Chelsea), it finally shifted!! Yeee--HAAAAA!!! I now have two fuel tanks, having just successfully bid for one on ebay. I suppose ...

OK, progress update. I have cut the remains of the pipe off as flush as I can get it to the union. Then I tried using a stud extractor (similar to a LH tap for cutting threads). The problem is that it doesn't get a proper purchase on the union because the pipe is in the way and just rotates. I can't...

Fuel pipe problem

I'm probably not the first to have this problem, so hopefully someone here will have the answer. I am replacing the fuel pipe betwwn tank and pump, and thought it would be a good idea to get the tank out to swill it out. Apart from that it makes getting the pipe union out of the tank easier. The pro...

We were thinking of using YH's as well. Since we don't have a dog this year our options are a bit wider. We are going to stay at St Just YH before setting out, worth booking that one early as it's quite small. We may stay on a farm at Lea near Malmesbury, about 15 miles south of Cirencester. My Dad ...

uprating/replacing engines

Afternoon folks. This has probably been covered before many times, but here goes. Is there a general consensus on how far you can go improving, uprating your engine for more poke, or replacing it with a bigger one, and still keep the original suspension & brakes? In other words, at what point, in te...

I think a bit more coverage of modified Minors in MM would perhaps help in appealing to the younger drivers. By modified I don't meant those running on radials instead of crossplys, or having electronic ingnition instead of points, I mean the full range of mods from small details through to full blo...
