Understood Phil
On assembly the rack was packed with grease at its extremities leaving it to be fully filled on delivery

Re: Steering Rack

Ive decided to go with grease after speaking to the suppliers
Given the application I can see no reason why grease wouldn't be the best option
It was certainly easier for me
Time will tell..

Re: Steering Rack

Thats good news
As I said it may be because of the weight and position of the wheels
Im hoping someone has a vehicle on axle stands who can check if theirs does the same

Re: Steering Rack

The column should be fitted and secured to the underside of the dash before tightening the rack clamps. That ensures that the rack is secured at the right angle in relation to the column. Does your Minor have the strengthening plates around the aperture for the column and O/S & N/S rack mounts. Fle...

Re: Steering Rack

I tightened the yokes up before fitting the column however I did ensure it was through the bulkhead and it wasn't fouling the bulkhead. I also moved / rattled the rack before finally tightening the yolks to ensure as best I could that it was in a good position. I cant imagine its in the wrong positi...

Re: Steering Rack

I must have a crap grease gun as i didnt have much success using it with EP 90
Also hen I move the wheels from side to side (off the ground) it doesnt feel like a smooth action
Its difficult to see how it can be fitted incorrectly if the spline fits through the bulkhead
Any thoughts ?
